Nope. He read the screen beautifully but over ran and whiffed big time on Powell. If JRM was here he would have stuck him in the dirt. He could read and finished. I saw a lot from quarte. Just needs to trust his instincts and forget his knee injury

Yep. Sad.

Last week rewatching the game and defense there were multiple plays I saw with Jumper where he had a lane to get a RB/WR for no gain or a TFL and just couldn't get there (though he did read the play well, in his defense).

I had the same thought about JRM (and Kirkland, to a lesser extent). If a guy like that is in there, he has him dead to rights and we're in 3rd in long instead of 2nd and short.

I was pleased with Sapp mostly as well, but I'd have to rewatch to know for sure. Not sure I've got it on me to do so though. His athleticism definitely flashed though. Definite upgrade over McDowell and Berry in that regard.

not off the WR's hands............and if off his hands, then should be a catch I am all for JG getting some snaps but not because of that pass more for all the back foot throws and not stepping up into the pocket.

Man he barely got his hands on the ball. The dude doesn't drop passes. A hitch thrown high like that is asking for it. A pass coming that fast and high enough for him to jump is terrible. One or two things will happen. It's getting picked or your WR will have back problems.

That pick 6 is all on the QB. A hitch shouldn't be high enough for you to have to jump at all.[/QUOTE

Shocker you place blame on QD. Didn't Callaway have a chance to catch it?

No that's BS for a hitch to be high. It isn't a curl. A pass coming that hard at a short distance should be chest/face high. Where was he throwing it? The WR is 6'2 and had to jump for a hitch.

Bituli played RB in HS.

Not sure if he's the answer we're looking for. I'd be fine with JK getting the ball in those situations.

But they've gotta put together SOMETHING for running the ball in short yardage situations other than that basic-@$$ shotgun base offense look or the under center PA pass that never fools anybody because you never run the ball under center.

And I say using 35 and 4 only because I believe Butch will never go out of shotgun and I don't believe using QD and 4 in short yardage. The D will key on 4 and bring the house. You need the two options if you need a yard.

Edit for being duped.

I think QD could be really good with good QB coaching. It's glaringly obvious he's not getting it though.

No one coaches throwing off your backfoot. He won't step up in the pocket either. He's not a runner so where is he going? If he doesn't want to get hit he needs to play something else.
