I think you'd be hard pressed to find another school with this injury situation. We were missing 20 players for the SC game. That's absurd. Then, right on track, down RT, best WR, best LB, and now one of our starting safeties and we've only played 2 games...

TK has been hobbled and was seeing his playing time diminish. Abernathy and Warrior are and were the guys at safety.

All I know is I cherish every victory over Florida. I don't use "no excuses" cause history has shown they play their best game of the year against us. Don't care if is spurrier, Zook, Muschamp, Meyer or donkey face. They are the luckiest program on the planet also.

I follow Memphis a little since I live here. They have only played one game. They lost a WR for the year in fall camp. In the first game, they lost their starting nose tackle for the year, their starting outside LB for the year (he missed all last year too), and another 2 deep LB for the year. I know it's been crazy, but it's a violent sport. JJ's injury had nothing to do with S&C.

We either have a normal amount of injuries and that can't be used as an excuse or we have an abnormal amount of injuries and Butch needs to be held accountable for completely mismanaging the S&C program. It's one or the other.

I don't know how to link multiple tweets and replies but John Brice is replying to this thread on Twitter about TKjr injury and insinuating that Shoop is done with Jones and purposely playing bad defense. Also that TKjr should have been at media days and it was a major slight to not start him against GT. No way that is true. What has happened to Brice?

Absolutely. I don't know what's causing the injuries but we are having far more than any other team in football. That is a fact as we lost more starts than any other team last year and we are picking up right where we left off.

I'd just as soon they hang on to him till Chip Kelly lands somewhere else.

And honestly, I hope they hang on to him for the same reason their fans wanted us to hang in to Dooley as long as possible. He's not pulling a Zook where he is at least getting elite talent.

He's not a good coach imo. Can't recruit. Gets who is left. Very lucky. Inherited a great defense.

Doubt I said "absolutely terrible."

1st road start for QD. Key injuries on both side of the ball. Hope we can pull it out. Would be a great win.

I don't buy that but I have heard from a number of people supposedly in the know that Butch and Shoop are far from happily married.

He didn't insinuate that Shoop is playing bad on purpose, at least not that I've seen. He is saying that we are so deep these injuries don't matter basically. He also said that TK was "jobbed" out of starting, whatever that means.

That's just hilarious. We have some fans who get mad when younger players don't play over older ones, and we have a former journalist who is criticizing them for not starting a senior. Just ridiculous.
