Lol.

As much as it pains me to say this, soccer is on the rise. Nashville may have an MLS team soon. More and more younger kids are playing. We are becoming Europe.

I love soccer but it'll never catch on here because it's not flashy enough for the American consumer. Until the American soccer fan base is content with a 1-1 draw (which can be thrilling), it will not work.

Listening to sportstalk this morning and they had Barrett Sallee on... hes still salty.

He mentioned that USCe was a CLEAR CUT #2 in the East because they have shown the most. He then went on to say that "UT wins the FL game because there is more to like with them... at least against the gators" Zing.

I thought the same for years, but as more and more kids get involved, more adults start watching. More travel squads for 8U and older are popping up in every city. My 10 year old played in one this weekend in White House, and they had to turn away teams. I personally don't like watching professional soccer at all unless it is the World Cup or Olympics, but I have started to because of my son and two girls that now play.

Still no decision about whether to play in Gainesville but UF will have classes Wednesday, a sign the game might be played at UF

Rewatching the game. Man, JG was money on some of those deep throws. The PI against Palmer led to a drop but that ball was dropped right in there. The ball George dropped was also a great ball.

So? Who cares if they are obsessed? People were obsessed with QD last year. It doesn't pee me off for our fans to be hyped about a player.

The only problem comes when they pull for the kid like THEY are the Vols. Anybody in their place they pull against them because of their obsession.

I don't care if McBride starts as long as we win. Sit QD and JG, I pull for the Vols.

Lol all of this is so true.

After talking to some folks, here's what we know right now...

Florida officials are meeting this morning to discuss plans for the game this weekend. While many options have been considered, it sounds like the main two venues being considered are Gainesville and Knoxville. There's optimism UF can host the game. The stadium is fine and they believe they have enough cops and emergency personnel to handle the event.

There's still several major issues to hurdle, though. The situation with 1-75, and getting gas, supplies and food into the city. Secondly, Tennessee doesn't have anywhere to stay on Friday night right now. Like all away teams, the Vols normally stay in Ocala before the game, but those hotels are booked from folks in South Florida. If these things can get sorted out, then the game should proceed as scheduled. If not, more avenues will have to be discussed. Could Tennessee fly into Gainesville on the day of? I would only think the Vols would agree to that if the game gets moved to like 8 p.m., and even then I'm not sure that's a viable option.

Again, it's a fluid situation. Folks seem to think a decision and announcement could come around early this afternoon.

The one ball he threw to Murphy should have been picked. It got knocked up and was very lucky he didn't get that one picked. Not a good decision or well placed ball.

More from Simonton...

Will add, Tennessee strongly prefers not to play the game in Knoxville this year. There's short-term parking concerns but also the bigger issue is playing in Gainesville back-to-back seasons down the road.
