My biggest issue with the D was how they were playing 1 to 1&1/2 off the Los. Maybe others have had success with it. Maybe it was a great plan in theory. But, for whatever reason it wasn't working. For heaven's sakes, try something different. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

Man, Geoff Calkins was just killing Butch on the Gary Parrish Show.

After watching him struggle with his TO usage again last night all they can conclude is that he's just not that bright, and that's why he struggles so much with in game decision making.

Basically said he's dumb.

Shoop gets through Florida if I'm Butch. If Shoop has not turned the defense around by UF tell him to gtfo. The dude has had plenty of time to get the defense on track. I don't get it, Bob was a top 5 coordinator when we hired him. Shoop has done nothing but set records for other teams so far. I have been supportive of the guy from the beginning, but this is getting ridiculous. And NO, Hoke would be the worst replacement possible (other than Sal).

It worked great. They were doing it to keep from getting legs broken.

Another option would be to hire Strip to be D.C. If shoop was let go. I kind of like that thought.

I think that's a lazy argument. Are we really supposed to believe that many CFB and even NFL coaches are dumber than the average 12-year-old playing Madden when it comes to clock management and time outs?

I guess it's possible. But I think it's more likely that coaches have so much going on in their headsets during make or break moments that it's hard for them to keep track of the clock while simultaneously keeping track of everything else they need to focus on (namely, DCs and OCs panicking and essentially begging for a timeout, even though it looks like the absolute wrong thing to do for everyone not in the booth/on the sideline).

Or maybe they just panic due to the insane pressure they feel in the moment and make major mistakes in that regard. I don't think it's because they're dumb. Timeouts and clock management are easy to understand. Every fan understands it, so why wouldn't guys who have spent their lives in and around football? There has to be more to it that we don't see.

Played a yard off to avoid legit cut blocks.

Higher reward than loosing players to injury from those.

Our defense flashed before getting mentally snapped. Tech is legit this year.


Freak, please find the gif of bituli slinging Techs Qb to the ground after he pitched it.

I swear it looked like Big Al was back in orange

Really like Bituli. Had a buddy who played against Bituli in high school and he said he was just mean lol. Said you never want to be at the bottom of the pile with Bituli. Love that in a football player.

That's a big leap in a small amount of info. There was a moment though where the ref was having to explain in detail the pretty obvious ramifications of a 5 yard penalty. That had me scratching my head more than the TO call. Even the head ref was loomed like he was saying "wtf is taking so long." Maybe our D was misaligned on the TO, who knows.

So you can guarantee that we'd have lost a d lineman? Do you not think staying on the field for 2/3 of the game also increases not only the D linemen but every defensive player's chance at injury? Playing not to get injured is a sure fired way to get injured. The defensive game plan was atrocious and anyone that argues otherwise really doesn't understand the game of football.

I think he was just trying to decide whether he wanted the down or the yards. Normally the answer would be the yards, but I think it wasn't as clear in this game.
