CP, Percy Harvin, Joe Adams, Randy Moss, Peter Warrick, Desmond Howard, Kamara, Tim Brown, Switzer, OBJ....... I mean we can name quite a few man. That's a lie.... People don't do it in the pros because you don't want to lose a starter to Special Teams. Antonio Brown still does it though.

Once again you come off as confrontational. Was merely stating what Bishop said. Think a former NFL safety's opinion should be respected.

I'm showing examples proving different.... How's that confrontational? If Hurd could be successful Berry can. Berry shed tackles well even on returns. He doesn't need all this space to work like some think. He gets up to speed fast. Remember his pick 6 versus Northwestern. He got up to speed really quick then it was over.

Doubtful. Blaine Bishop (former NFL strong safety for Titans) had an interesting comment on this morning's sports talk show in Nashville. Said he sees great straight line speed in Evan but not the shiftiness that you see in a rb or wr. Great kickoff returner but lacks the ability to make guys miss.He asked the other hosts to name a great rb or wr who was also a great kick returner or a great kick returner who was also a great wr or rb. Thought his perspective was interesting

Also said coaches will play the more experienced player over younger more talented players because they know what they will get. The younger player may make a mistake and allow big play, bust a coverage or run wrong routes.

100% agree with this. Someone said we should just put him at WR and throw him bubble screens or go routes. Don't think he would be successful with that, just not his skill set.

No doubt he is fast, but I just watched the highlight and he outran 5 Big10 OL and a backup white QB lol

A little different than what he would be asked to do against an SEC defense at WR

You act like you can't throw him the ball out there and let him work. We do it with Josh Smith and he hasn't broke one yet. Your best WR screens are blocked well and the guy gets on top of the defense fast. He'd be hell on screens. Breaking arm tackles and running by safeties.

What defense would run him down if he breaks? Anywhere in the country..... Teams stop kicking to him for a reason. You won't be catching him at all with that stride.

I think vol fans forgot what it was like to have talented depth and not rely on freshman all over the field.

Especially in the recruiting forum. We watch them for a couple of years and think every one of them will make an immediate impact.

Yeah, that's not the same as calling him "the next Cam Sutton."

Let's not act like they weren't high on him and bragging on him last year. He was the first guy in when people got injured until he got burnt badly at aTm. Now nobody ever talks about him anymore.

His skill set is not catching the ball, then having to make people miss before getting up to full speed. He wouldn't be successful in that role.

He's is good at building up speed, finding a crease, and turning on the burners.

Clearly the NFL safety was wrong though based on those many examples just given...and while I agree BB is too confrontational, he wasn't going after you at all in that post lol

If we really want Berry to get touches on O I think you have to run some sweeps, reverses, pitches for him. Give him a chance to get a running start, find a hole and try to break it.

None of this shifty, make people miss in a phone booth nonsense. Utilize his top end speed.

Can't be any worse than our 1.4 yard or so (yes I made that up, but they're almost always awful) average on our dozen or so bubble screens a game.

Did you watch his HS highlights on offense I just posted?

How do you know that's not his skill set? Just because he has elite straight line speed doesn't mean he wouldn't be shifty too. Have we seen him attempt to be shifty and fail? It's just as likely we've only seen his straight like speed because that's what he's supposed to do on kick offs.

Pro tip:

Any of the hype you hear in fall camp you need to pretty much ignore. It is and always has been unreliable.

Quinton Hancock was Randy Moss every single fall. The guy probably had 10 career receptions.

I just posted his HS highlights he's fun to watch with the football. Especially on screens and at RB. Kid is a big play waiting to happen and cuts with ease.

I did. The same one where he's a game changing S as well, correct?

If we're going off his high school tape, he looks like an All-SEC player at S in that video.

It's a little different ballgame in the SEC. You know that.
