Charlottesville white nationalists riots

I don't think you understood what I meant. I don't believe that refusing to meet with a man whom you feel is repugnant is the same as giving up.
The message seems to be that there can be no compromise. It's going to be an all or nothing affair. The way the news has run the past week, that may seem like a good prospect to some folks. However, these events have been limited to large urban areas and liberal college towns. Those are not the places that elected the current POTUS. I think his base is still there, which means there will not be a white flag raised from the white house any time soon.

They did. I recall some being removed and debates from time to time about it over the past 20 years.

But again, quit trying to distract from the real issue, which is not the statutes. Its about the neo nazis and white supremacists marching, itching for a fight, then killing a young woman, and injuring many.

And about Trump going for the alt right bait that this is not about racial hatred from the right, its about just preserving history.

Honestly, if you cannot acknowledge that the anger and resentment and lots of violence on the alt right is a big problem and getting worse, and that YOUR president has been giving excuses for it, there's just not much to discuss.

1) I didn't vote for him
2) he's still YOUR president also
3) the alt right is a big problem, but what you liberals refuse to accept, is that the loopy left is also.
4) if after the videos that are out there of what some of the counter protesters done, plus what the left done in other protests doesn't convince any of you that your side has problems also, then you're a blind sheep.

That man is in charge of the country and is the best option to help your cause. it's foolish to reject the discussion.

There shouldn't be violence at any of these assemblies. The police need to be permitted to do their jobs and practice some crime prevention rather than just trying to pick up pieces after the fact. What did the Charlottesville authorities expect to happen when these groups came into direct contact?

How many were murdered for their political beliefs ?

How many white people have been attacked for just being white since trump won by antifa and blm? Is that not over political beliefs? These idiots don't even know how the person they've attacked voted, it's just they're white and considered conservative republicans. How about we play a game? All you liberals post videos/stories of conservatives attacking a minority or a democrat since November, and I'll post you some of white people being attacked just because they're assumed a trump supporter? Then I want to hear you cry about violence based on political beliefs. You're a lawyer, have to be smarter than this ol hillbilly and can surely find more, right? Wanna play a game?

Boston ‘Free Speech’ Rally Speakers Receiving Death Threats

Headline says it all about ANTIFA

We'll see how Boston handles it. Their mayor said that the group is entitled to speak based on how the courts have ruled. Good grief. How about the US Constitution?

"Brandon himself was going to endorse an Indian-American for a U.S. Senate seat so he finds it ironic that strangers are calling him a white supremacist."

Pretty sad that people want to shut down a "free speech" rally. Of course I'm told that antifa is anti-fascist.....

They expected, and wanted, a lot of violence and that's exactly what they got.

Looks like Steve Bannon is done

Drudge got the scoop

Update: NYT article

President Trump has told senior aides that he has decided to remove Stephen K. Bannon, the embattled White House chief strategist who helped Mr. Trump win the 2016 election, according to two administration officials briefed on the discussion.

The president and senior White House officials were debating when and how to dismiss Mr. Bannon. The two administration officials cautioned that Mr. Trump is known to be averse to confrontation within his inner circle, and could decide to keep on Mr. Bannon for some time.

As of Friday morning, the two men were still discussing Mr. Bannon’s future, the officials said. A person close to Mr. Bannon insisted the parting of ways was his idea, and that he had submitted his resignation to the president on Aug. 7, to be announced at the start of this week, but it was delayed in the wake of the racial unrest in Charlottesville, Va.

Mr. Bannon had clashed for months with other senior West Wing advisers and members of the president’s family.

I've said this before. If anyone or any group imposes upon, prohibits or impedes the rightful free speech/freedom of assembly etc. guaranteed by the first amendment as we have seen recently, each individual should bear the full brunt of the law and charged accordingly. Why this isn't happening I have no idea.

Honestly, what could he possibly do to help her? Is Trump performing resurrections these days? Perhaps she heard him say that her daughter shared the blame. (the many sides bs)

Because they have been part of the problem. Screw the likes of Corker, McCain, Romney etc...

Corker apparently sees himself as a budding Lindsey Graham.

I can't see why we would expect anything different; he was handpicked by the GOP to be mayor of Chattanooga as a stepping stone to the Senate. They wouldn't even let his non-residency get in the way. There was a lawsuit about that issue; it died and was buried in the night - not even a whisper in the news after - just nobody else in the contention for the GOP spot. That means somebody was paid off or threatened - as in afraid for his life.

It was a strained relationship already. But then Bannon got headlines with his interview, and the one thing Trump absolutely will not put up with is people taking the limelight away from him. Even for a day.

Provide her perspective. Even if it doesn't seem to make a dent, it was still placed in memory. You implying that it's a lost cause is exactly why our country is as divided as it is. No one sits down and listens to anyone. it's all my way and your way is wrong even when there's a glaring amount of ignorance on the opposite view. It's all shouting matches in 140 characters or less. There's no substance, no debate, no compromise. As a lawyer, you show up even if the case doesn't look promising during the trial. You do that to represent your client to CONVINCE the jury of your clients perspective. Are you saying that lawyers are clear to not show up just because "thine own self be true" applied?

The statistics show that the substantial majority of domestic terrorism incidents involving these issues is by white supremacists and neo-nazis.

antifa is the biggest threat today as a domestic terrorist group, now I know you and the rest of the alt-left don't have a problem with their tactics or violence and the media cover up for it but the fact remains

I read where Wolfe Blitzer thought that the Barcelona attack was maybe a copycat of the Charlottesville attack. I had to smile at the pure ignorance of that statement!

Here's the differences between the many Isis vehicle attacks and the Charlottsville attack as I see it:

1. The victims of ISIS attacks are completely innocent, meaning there were just going about their day and minding their own business. The victims of the Charlottsville attack were in the area for political purposes. They were there to physically show support or opposition to the march because of strong political views one way or the other.

2. ISIS attacks are planned days in advance, and most times involve more than one attacker. This attack seems to be a lone wolf who made an instantaneous emotional stupid judgment call that will cause him to spend the rest of his life behind bars.

3. The ISIS attacks are followed by praise of the attackers by group leadership. The white-supremacist march organizers and participants have not yet been seen dancing in the streets celebrating or shown on TV taking responsibility and praising the death and injuries.

4. If police knew in advance about a possible ISIS attack, they would have swarmed the area and placed their vehicles to protect the crowd. In Charlottsville, the authorities knew that there was an extremely high likelihood of violence, yet chose to stand down. Why? They should have lined the parade route in riot gear to keep the sides physically separated.

Ok. Rant over! :)

As a whole Congress gets low ratings. But when their individual states or districts are polled about how they rate their own Congressman or Senator their ratings are much higher and they keep getting reelected.

Regardless, Trump needs the support of the Senate to get anything done and he's bleeding support.

Yep, people despise congress, but it's always the other guys who are bad. It's a shame voters aren't objective enough to look a lot closer to home, or to admit their own outright duplicity and lack of objectivity.

Each and every voter should ask how did my rep manage to become a millionaire by being a politician? Congressional hatred for Trump stems from the fact that he didn't make his fortune in politics, and they don't trust someone they can't blackmail for doing what they've done.

I wouldn't P*** on the KKK/NeoNazis if they were on fire. I love seeing them get shellacked in media. Their views are so off the planet it's not even funny. But when is everyone else going to acknowledge the anger, resentment and violence of Antifa/BLM and deal with that? When are those on the left going to hold them accountable for their destruction of property, their instigation of violence and their repeated attempts to shut down the first amendment rights of others? When are you guys on the left going to recognize them as the leftist version of what you hate on the right? Do NOT even talk about double standards without looking in the mirror first. Don't necessarily mean you, LG, but the left. The leftists/Antifa/BLM are not guiltless in this whole s**t show.
