Charlottesville white nationalists riots

"Accepted practice" would mean you were there to witness everything on a widespread basis? More likely the "accepted practice" is as portrayed in your party documents and in the movies and perhaps fictional accounts that fit your mindset. Historically the weak and disenfranchised are vulnerable to crime and violence - don't forget some Africans enslaved others and sold them.

If you equate the treatment of a slave used for labor with that of someone selected for ethnic cleansing, I can't help you in your bigoted view of history. If you elect to equate any number of slaveholders (including the likes of Washington of Jefferson) with the likes of a Mengele or an SS thug, I can't help you with that view either. One group of people were used as labor; the other were objects selected for elimination - the matter was how and when.

Rather than question other's "false equivalencies"; look at your own.

You're missing the point, which doesn't change whether you equate those groups or not.

You defend slaveowners by saying that their actions were an "accepted practice," but it was largely accepted by other slaveowners. That's like me saying we can't judge Nazis because their actions were accepted by other Nazis, or saying we can't judge KKK members because their actions were accepted by other KKK members. Every group, by definition, has other members within the same group that "accept their practices."

Democrats realize that the neo-nazis support Trump and that Trump is willing to accept that support. Trump knows it. The neo-nazis know it.

The Republican establishment knows it, too. But it, like so many things about Trump, embarrasses them. So they minimize it. Parse words. Deflect back to criticizing Obama.

But they know he's pandering to a very sinister element within their party. And they have to put up with it.

There were plenty of horrible republicans and democrats involved in what happened yesterday....nobody should support any of the groups involved

Duke is a personal agenda driven asshat, just like the rest of the blathering twats using the media, including the media, to self promote and take advantage of the divisiveness in our country.

If one is set on lumping Duke/his ilk and Trump together based on specific words not uttered by Trump, then one must be willing to do the same with Obama and BLM/Antifa. When exactly did Obama specifically call them out by name as being bad? Didn't he invite the Brotherhood to the White House?

Trump has called out both sides as being in bad form. To hammer on him about not being specific in his call out is simply showing partisan bias and bringing your own divisive agenda to light.

Glad you've joined our merry band of misanthropes. Hope you stick around and post more. Welcome aboard.

Morally. People have the right to protest and say whatever the hell they want but not everyone is going to stand by and all someone or some group to shout their racists ideas. I'm not saying punching someone is the correct way to handle things but sometimes a person needs a good punch in the mouth

Here come those peaceful liberals condoning violence again.

Yes he is pandering to a sinister element and we need to keep a spotlight on these cockroaches. By cockroach I mean the administration.

Republicans have been pandering to ignorant white folks--rednecks, racists, rural residents--for 50 years. That's what they do. They stoke fear among the rednecks and rural simpletons--that's their schtick. Decades ago, they stoked fear that angry black men would rape white women; then more recently, right wingers spout nonsense about a Muslim takeover of America, which of course gives heart palpitations to low-information, low-intellect rural/county voters. We're talking about people who are scared of smart, powerful women: start feeding them bull$hit about Muslims and illegal immigrants who rape and murder--Trump's pander--and the simpletons are running to the polls to vote for Republican wankers.

George Bush did it with terrorism. During his reelection campaign, in the six months or so before the vote (and recall that 9/11 happened during his first term), his administration suddenly starting issuing all these grave terrorism alerts; every two or three weeks there would be another one. Surprise: None of them were legit; nearly all, if not all, were trumped up--but they did the job: Little old ladies all around middle America were too frightened to go to bed at night for fear Osama bin Laden might be hiding in their closet. Pathetic. This is the idiocy that sensible people have to put up with from conservatives--and mainstream GOP pols have no integrity because they go along with it.

Nothing quite spells LOSER like somebody joining a neo-Nazi (or militia) group.
Did you see the photos of those guys yesterday--standing around in their dark sunglasses and holding shields! Carrying torches. One wants to laugh at them, but then the left overreacts to these right-wing fools and the result is violence.

Let's not compare BLM to neo-Nazi's and right-wing racist groups. It's stupid. Young white men haven't been kicked around for 50 years. A lot of blacks have. Big difference.

I prefer to call an a-hole an a-hole and not try to justify why they are an a-hole

This exact statement could be uttered verbatim about Obama and the BLM/Anitra/Brotherhood groups.

Love, hate or tolerate him, this country needed Trump elected if only for the top to bottom shake up he provides. He's shining a light on all that is wrong within our great country simply by waking up every morning in the White House.

The worms with agendas, not in the best interests of the US, have crawled out and been exposed on both sides of the isle. This includes the violence seeking rioters from both sides as well. One side emboldened by the previous 8 years and the other side from the election results. The PC and feels crowd are in epic meltdown and denial mode, lashing out in a mega tantrum and having cuddle parties. The screw PC and feels crowd found a voice that nobody realized they still had and got him elected. One does get tired of being talked down to, mis-labeled and virtually ignored for years upon years.

We need a reset and have needed one for decades. Eventually, the proverbial crap will hit the fan and after the dust settles, hopefully we can get on the right track to move the country in a positive forward direction.

Liberals manage. Liberals are the worst people.

Yea all those liberals that showed up with confederate flags and nazi flags were an embarrassment to this country. That liberal David Duke who said the white supremacist who showed up are the reason Trump was elected.

Now that was sarcasm but I could be like you and say all Trump supporters are just like those idiots we saw yesterday but I know that's not true. Just like it's not true that all liberals are bad people or condone unprovoked violence

Quit making this a party issue and realize this is an America issue. Free speech is a right we all share and anyone can say what they wish and March in the street to promote their cause but that doesn't make them right. Whether it's left or right neither are right to promote racism

Really??? Crazy people are the worst people. Or better yet, any close minded individuals who are unwilling to listen to any other view point and have civilized discourse are the worst people. Those who unnecessarily turn to violence are the worst people. So yes some liberals are the worst people but most are not. White nationalist are also the worst people. Had a Muslim drove a car into a group of people it would be called a terror attack. So why not call this as such?

I need to organize a Jewish hate group. We're going to be pissed off that "you people " didn't stop the nazis from sticking us in gas chambers. You also encourage the Islamic turds to blow us up now.
I think you're all to blame.
