Trump Bans Transgenders in Military

Does viagra prevent someone from being deployable for extended periods of time? Can a soldier in a remote post do without viagra and suffer no ill effects?

Dumbass comparison.

The comparison is valid. In case you haven't noticed, there are lots of people crying about the cost of this elective treatment. Viagra is not necessary and costs a hell of a lot more, thus the comparison.

[Insert insult here]

Why does anyone think that if you work for the government you should get benefits not provided by private companies?
The bottom line is that a vast majority of Americans aren't transexuals and 99.99% of people don't give a crap about their needs or wants.

Indubitably.

You identify with viagra users, which is why you're not bothered by the cost. I get it.

Technically they consented when they showed up for induction and voluntary took the oath.

I feel like you don't understand the word voluntary. If I hold a gun to your head and told you to do something, you did not voluntarily do that something

I'm saying if it is (using your definition) then being a child is equivalent. I'm also saying most people in the modern age do have forced labor - they can move from one employer to the next but they are forced to work for someone and therefore they too are slaves (using your definition). It's simply a difference in scale.

That's not true at all. They are free not to work and plenty of people take that option. They're also free to save enough to work for themselves.

No I identify with the majority of the people in the US. I'm sick of the minority trying to tell me how I need to behave.

Sweet irony. If you support the ban, you are telling others how to behave. In what way does the pre-ban military transgender policy tell you how to behave?

Gays are fine in the military, transgender is another problem. If you've ever spent any time around the military or been in the military you'd understand.

The point is that some mentally ill people are gay for attention. That's the point.

Are you going to explain how trans people aren't mentally ill? Or just keep throwing insults

I'll keep throwing insults because your argument is asinine. You didn't say mentally ill people are gay for attention, you said gay people are mentally ill....that's 2 different ideas.

If a person has Dissociative Identity Disorder and a part of them is a woman named Ruth who likes men and another part of them is a man named Earl who likes women, they're not bisexual. They have a mental disorder. If a woman grows up and realizes she is more attracted to women than men, she is a lesbian not mentally ill.

Jesus what backwoods bible thumping town do you come from? Let me guess, you think women should stay in the kitchen and not have the right to vote. Interracial marriage is a sin as well?

I really don't care except for the costs involved. Great, you want to be trans, but you need to be full duty ready as your unit requires and pay any transitional expenses out of your pocket. It shouldn't cost the taxpayers any money for people to make the change.

This.

Unfortunately there aren't a lot of studies to corroborate or debunk this. The methodology seems sound, but there may be some bias by the authors. The math checks out from my limited stats training (basic stats, biostats, and psych stats). I'm no statistician, but the methodology and math looks good from my limited understanding.

I still don't really buy it. The military is apparently rife with bigotry and discrimination, so trans people deal with that by joining up at four times the rate of the general population?

You fail to take into account that likely most of that cost for viagra falls into the retiree healthcare.

You also refuse to understand operational readiness, transitioning from one sex to another makes a person non deployable for extended periods of time. Then the further care (medications) required that might be hard to provide in some areas of the world.
