Peyton Manning calls out Durrant

To be fair, Peyton did caveat by saying those were not his jokes, but rather "disgusting" jokes that ESPN execs wanted him to tell.

Yes, but he chose the team that was best suited to get him another ring. He could've went to TB, but I don't think the Bucs were set up to get him to the SB.

Most people don't realize that the Broncos were 8-8 the season Peyton was choosing them. It's not like they were world beaters at that point in time. Peyton went to the best situation for him, they built a winner and won a Superbowl.

It's VERY unlike Durant who after seeing the Warriors win a championship and assemble a powerhouse, decided to join up with them to get in on the action.

He also joked on himself by thanking the Broncos defense for carrying him to the championship.

Manning likely had many opportunities throughout his career to go play for several teams that could've given him a better chance for a ring than Indy. The point is that he didn't leave until he was forced out. Dumb argument

Bet you anything, PM publicly, or privately, apologizes to Kevin

I'll raise you pi that he doesn't...because Durant was in on it. And it's a freaking JOKE at an awards event! Chris Rock going to ever issue one to N'Sync?

I'll reiterate that it seemed he was going along with the joke and apparently pulled it off too well. He competed like crazy in the Finals and was the best player on that stage. Fact that it ended up being easy adds the words "Smart and savvy" to his resume. He took less to come back and win some more...says a lot about him. Don't know why he would get more props leaving for another team with less a chance to win championships. He's a NBA player...not a Tibetan monk.
if that is the case and KD/Westbrook were in on it then it was epic. They should both look forward to long careers on hollywood because they pulled off the whole "WTF, is this guy serious" really well.

Would explain the decline in quality of movies. Stone face expression and let CGI do the rest of the two hours? :)

I am a huge Manning fan but he went to the Broncos to get a ring, didn't he?? Lot of butt hurt if you ask me, Durant picked a great team to join but the style the Warriors employ who wouldn't want to play there!

Colts cut ties with Peyton because of a serious neck injury and to acquire Luck. Only way you could come to your conclusion is if you came out of a two year coma, and the TV in your room was covering his signing with Denver an hour or two later. How can you call yourself a huge Manning fan and not be informed on everything that happened to him?

I agree with everything expect for a few points. Durant had the right to go wherever he wanted too that would be a better fit for his play style. However, choosing to go to the Warriors (73-9) record that is, who beat you in the Western Conference Finals with 3 Superstars, doesn't scream "Champion" to me...

How in hell did we get on the topic of round ball? I thought that this forum was for the real game.

Anything Peyton does is a football topic in these parts. Besides... it's the off-season. Rather this than another pro/anti Butch argument.

The people that don't realize this was all staged amaze me. Durant's mom was even laughing, and she is usually the one who gets butt hurt by everything.

Warrior related story: When I was in high school (around the time of the Civil War), our HS bball team kinda sucked (read white school) and had for years. The HC had been there for years and was not perceived as the "sharpest knife in the drawer".
Some of the players got together (and others) got together and made up some genuine GS Warriors logo letterhead. This was way before color printers too. They wrote a letter from the front office of the Warriors to the HC pumping up his coaching reputation and offering him an assistant position immediately with the team. They had somebody from Cali mail it to him.

The next week, someone asked coach in practice how many years he thought he might coach. He paused and told em' not to get too attached to him and that he may be looking at other offers etc. They tortured the guy for months before he finally realized he was being trolled. :-o

I was 17 and felt sorry for the guy. But the point was that the Warriors were so bad for so long that the scam became plausible.

OK, back to your regularly scheduled program.

That's actually a pretty neat story. And pretty neat to see how far they have come..

Related. I think Peyton Manning would be a great late night TV show host. Like on Fox or some ****.

If Westbrook and Durant were really as rubbed the wrong way by that as they appeared to be, Good Lord, they need to grow up.

Durant got paid, went to a good team, and won a title. Westbrook won MVP this year. Good for them both. Grow up.

I think we can all agree that the monologue was scripted and KD etc new it was coming and were a part of the act. Surely you guys know that....
