Kirby Smart takes a jab at Butch Jones

As for UGA's vacuum-boy, piffle. It's the off-season. Let fly your fancies. For example, I hope that Butch owns Smart throughout their tenures. Similarly, I hope that Butch owns McElwain. I hope Butch flips the karma on Muschamp and the Vols subject his teams to emotionally scarring defeats for as long as he has a job in the SEC. Yeah, you read me correctly - Tennessee gets all the breaks and wins all the games against these three, even during CBJ's tenure.

Tennessee owns Georgia and Florida. Always has and always will. More tradition than both.

Spurrier was too good of a multi-sport athlete for UT to offer late. Of course Spurrier held a grudge and he has used it very effectively against UT. His attitude of it being unacceptable to lose to UT has become ingrained at UF.

Hating to lose, especially to a rival, is a good thing-- much better than excusing it away or worse, coming to accept it.

Ditto for throwing zingers at UGA, who dealt Spurrier several painful losses as a player.

However to 99's point, HBC almost never made excuses or threw shade at an opponent following a loss...the complaints over FSU hitting Wuerffel late following the '96 regular season loss comes to mind, but that's about it.

HBC just rarely lost to UGA or Tennessee, so his zingers usually came at our rival's expense following a UF win.

Remember, you're a guest here. Even welcome folks on visas don't have the rights of citizens...

Spurrier spewed more than one cutting remark during SEC media days, long removed from the last gridiron contest. "You can't spell Citrus without UT" issued from his mouth in the post-season, months removed from the actual UT-UF game. Don't paint him pretty in hindsight, and when he does pass from this life, don't forget to toss visors on his grave. Do it out of a very real respect.

kirby would have had several get drafted but they opted to stay. Dude is just a douche bottom line. And as bad on gameday as Butch. Also 0-1 vs Butch. Meh

I'm failing to see the "jab" in this. What am I missing?

Why'd he bring up this alleged exchange? Was he joking? Was he praising the coach that told him that he had the more talented team, but had 6 draft picks to his 1?

LSU with a decent coach is a machine.

Yes they are but there is absolutely no reason Tennessee shouldnt be the exact same way, especially with the instate talent exploding. That's the problem, too many UT fans are fine with 8 and 9 wins. That's embarrassing to say the least. It's a big problem and I haven't exactly figured out why it's happening. Finebaum said it best today on BrAden and Fitz. I suggest listening to that interview.

Just that you left them out. They've been on par with Alabama...and that was with Miles. As far as what other fans are "fine with"? You torture yourself with silly things. And Paul Finebaum ain't gonna fix it. :)
