AJ Johnson can't catch a break

This is true. But, I wonder if he's just giving up on life?

If he's innocent, this whole mess is an irrevocable personal tragedy...but he has a college degree. Along with his Vols football network of connections, there is no reason to destroy the potential he has in life. The stress of a criminal trial with your life in the balance can wipe away that reasoning I'd imagine. Hopefully someone he loves and/or respects can reach him.

Breaks are made, not caught. Breaks on the field come from hard work and practice. Breaks in life come from good decision making and keeping your life in order.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Put some teeth in the laws. If you get convicted of DUI, you should lose the car you were driving.

I don't disagree that more should be done to deter that sort of behavior, especially repetitively, but allow me to play devil's advocate here. If you start doing that, do you not think you're going to see judges, prosecutors, and police start pushing for false convictions? I know some officers personally, and most are good people, but they are still people, and I do know a couple who have come home with all sorts of things that belonged to suspects and were taken through civil forfeiture, or in other words taken without conviction.

If you kill a deer illegally they can and will take your truck, atv, gun and anything else that you used in the crime. If you kill someone while driving intoxicated they slap you on the wrist and you'll end up serving less than 2 years.

Fun fact: Wildlife management bureaus are typically more powerful (in terms of what they can do to you legally) than most police forces.

The degree he has might not be worth any thing.

You are wrong on all accounts. This guy is trouble for the team and UT. Get rid of his ass now.
Slide another player into his slot. Someone that has school pride and appreciates this kind of opportunity.
We don`t want to be known as "thug University". His actions are all wrong.

Lolololololol

Google is your friend. Learn some stuff before posting.

I see the 13 year olds are posting again.

Brah.....are you playing dumb or do you honestly not know what you are talking about?

Do you who AJ Johnson is?

Are you aware Phil Fulmer is no the coach anymore?

IMO, the death penalty seems a bit harsh.

They should just leave his slot open.

That's ridiculous. If you have a good network, a degree in sociology can land you a number of jobs. Heard it here first.

No, it's not, ridiculous. I commented nothing about networking, either.

I just don't see someone with a Sociology or General Studies degree getting hired over someone with a business, accounting, economics etc. degree. Wasn't he working at the local Tractor Supply?

If he gets through this trial, his measly scholarship will land him a career job. Bigger one available when you take into consideration Vol fans who may hire. My nephew majored in history and is a corporate lawyer in Chicago. Taught until he was accepted into law school. Johnson could easily work as a case worker, probation officer or administrator on the sociology degree alone. Then work towards his masters and open management opportunities...maybe even manage a Tractor Supply company since that's your apparent default crummy job. :)

Now Butcha, a MS is a totally different thing than a BS. Since you sound like an educated man, or at least the parent of an educated child, you do know the value of a Science degree over an Arts degree, correct?

P.S., I do purchase some of my farm supplies from TSC but only on Sundays or when Co-Op is closed. Imma Co-Op guy myself. I would not work for TSC for nothing!

A college degree is "worth something". Don't need a doctorate to surmise that factoid.

The more I've heard/read about this situation and AJ's "behavior", the more I'm baffled by this thread title. This had to do with "breaks" but rather another poor, life alternating decision for the bad.

He should stop by Autozone and get a new one.
