Bob shoop sued by PSU

It must just be DCs having these contract issues.haha Didn't Chavis also go through some confusing fiasco with LSU once he went to A&M?

He claims intolerable working conditions. He was at Penn State. Does he really need to offer proof?

When you're sued...counter-sue! It's the American way. From this article it doesn't look like Shoop was fired:

http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/...eaving-Penn-State-takes-job-at-Tennessee.html

Especially this line:

"This was not an easy decision and one that I didn’t take lightly," he said. "Over the last 24 hours, I had an opportunity to meet with coach Jones and his staff. It became evident to me that he is building a great program, a program on the rise and certainly one that will compete for an SEC championship."

If he was fired and/or the conditions were bad it wouldn't/shouldn't have been a tough decision to make.

this is really fake news. this happens everyday in business etc. i am sure that this is coming as no surprise to Shoop as there were probably discussion etc before this took place. So when the talks stall, they sued and Shoop counter sued. it will be settled in court for probably a lot less.

Haha, where are all the folks saying i was using this to bash the program? Lol Coach doing a pretty good job of looking foolish on his own.

I'm right here. What?

Go ahead, mock the program, coaches and players, then go lol at someone being optimistic about the program, coaches and players, and call them baffoons.

Speaking of pretty good job looking foolish on his own.

Being a vols fan does not meam you lose the ability to look at things objectively. I havent mocked a single player or called anyone a buffoon on this subject. I simply said Shoop should pay what he owes. That should be a universal thought, not defended just because he is own our side now. He agreed to pay, he wasnt fired. Pay what you owe coach. Its a pretty simple concept.

One of the many things wrong with America right here. If Shoop said he would pay the money, he needs to pay the money.

Not really. If he agreed to pay if PSU's defense sucked or the school somehow lost revenue due to his departure, then he should only pay if those things happened. They didn't. Just because Penn State says he owes it doesn't make it true.

The real problem with America shown by thus situation is the lack of journalistic effort. No one bothered to look at the contract and report on the facts of the matter, they just took the easy way out. It took some lawyers on Reddit to explain the actual facts of the matter.

Looks savvy to me. I hope he gets away without paying a dime. :)

Language of the contract makes that vague. He's letting the court decide what that amount is. I hope it's zero and that Penn State gets no money. Then I will be happy and I will smile. :)

I think you mean "out of court." If it goes to trial, then one side is going to get what the contract requires. A judge can't unilaterally rewrite a contract.

Not rewriting...it's interpreting the language. Penn State's legal team were sloppy. Wonder if their wives were hot? :)

True enough on the journalistic piece. Why is Shoop saying he was fired?

Id go with that. Curious as to why he is saying he was fired?
