Anti-Trump Hysteria and Silliness

There's plenty of embarrassment to go around.

Both sides equally suck, is this really news to anyone? The political discourse, among other things, has been headed this way for a long time and it isn't finished sinking lower yet. As long as both sides point fingers at each other, they will have three more pointing back.

That's fine, but applauding Trump for what he does in this respect is like rooting for brain cancer in someone dying of lung cancer.

We get it, you support him because he says dumb, reckless things constantly on twitter. Some people expect more out of the Oval Office.
I support him because he understands the relationship between taxes, government regulations, business, illegal immigration, and the economy. The fact that he gets under your skin is a plus.

Does he truly understand what he says he understands? Other than him being a billionaire and claiming he's the best at everything, I can't think of a time where I was surprised of his knowledge.

Of all of those, the only thing he has done is reduce some regulation and stop immigration for 90 days from countries that have not exported any terrorists to us.

No tax bill has even been introduced, much less passed.

The wall was always a complete sham. Still is.

He says he understands the economy, but seems more like he just understands how to get rich by investing in real estate. There's a difference between that and comprehending national economic issues.

He won by ****posting and meming all-day on Twitter. He and his twitter account defeated Hillary and her $1,000,000,000 campaign.

Yeah, this is the first time in American history that people have cared about the Oval Office. WTF are you even talking about?

You didn't seem to care too much when the other guy was screwing over the American people w/his stupid domestic policies & trying to further divide whites & blacks to be more at each other's throats. And then thinking Hillary would be such an easy shoe in to win the election bc all he had to say was she was the most qualified candidate to be President & then she would advance & keep his stupid domestic policies in tact. Boy, what an idiot that guy was.

I am a conservative, I am very concerned about the economy, the lack of growth, and the difference between wage increases and cost of living increases. Not favorable.

Why do I take issue with Trump? I've said it before on here. His language - not only is it unbecoming of a president, it doesn't mesh with a democratic society. Reminiscent of Chavez, Erdogan, Duterte, Putin, etc.

The battles he chooses to fight - why on earth did he put Germany on blast for our trade deficit with them? They spend no money in their own country, and we export more BMWs & VWs than we do Fords. Why did he attack the London mayor on the night of terrorist attacks? Couldn't have let that situation breathe for awhile? The MSNBC anchor, nobody watches that station anyways. He's a child.

His "economic policy" - you'll be 90 by the time tax breaks alone start to rebuild our infrastructure, if it ever works out. The idea that he championed coal energy is another great example of how out of touch he is, the emergence of cheap natural gas fracking is sending that industry to its grave. His hostility towards H1B visas, especially when we have a dearth of technical expertise in this country, is motivated by populism, not business sense. Between that and pulling out of the Paris Agreement, we could very well miss out on leading the next "tech-boom" like opportunity - green/renewable energy.

I think he's dumb. I think he has no vision. I think we were sick of corruption and ineffectual leadership so we shot off our noses to spite our faces - and if he gets us involved in any trade wars, I'll move to Canada.

At least he pisses off liberals...

A trade war would compel you to move to Canada?

Sometimes you just wonder how anybody gets so out of touch that they think anyone takes their faux outrage seriously.

Its just garish. Everything about the man, from the way he carries himself to the way he speaks to the way even decorates his homes, is just cheap glitz.

He has no class at all. Kind of explains why the long-time elite shun him. They see him for the tasteless fraud that he is.

I don't disagree that he is tasteless, but make no mistake - the reason the elite shun him is that he's not one of them and they can't control him.

What policies did he win on?

Healthcare, for example? What was his healthcare policy?
I'd say just about every policy. He was running against a de facto incumbent.

Specifically, I don't think there's anyway to deny that his opposing messages on healthcare, trade, immigration, deregulation and tax policy all resonated.

How on earth do you know that I didn't care? Because I didn't post here back then? You and tums just love building strawmen...

Maybe it wasn't so much about policy as it was about personality, attitude.

I know that if we got involved in a trade war with any significant trading partner, and that if Trump is successful at restricting H1B visas - that would be devastating to our economy. I'd definitely move to Canada. Probably find a job in the newly minted Canadian tech sector.
