Anti-Trump Hysteria and Silliness

I disagree. If he passes a bum wrap healthcare bill, I think his chances significantly diminish.

Never underestimate the stupidity of the American voter.

Heck, there are people defending this baboons comments with more fervor than ole googly eyes Huckabee, and she's being paid.

They own him, they're kind of stuck having to defend him. I wonder how they are going to answer their grandchildren when they ask: "grandpa, how could you have voted for Donald Trump".

I would answer that it was to delay the country's descent into socialism, by keeping more liberal freaks off the Supreme Court.

The same way Bill Clinton voters answer the question. Leave out the dumb stuff and talk about the economy.

They'll condescendingly pat you on the head on the way out of your nursing home room, not wanting to be late to the feminist rally.

that environmental regulations were asinine and unnecessary--not me--just another stupid, throwaway comment from a conservative. I let the EXPERTS decide what regulations should be put in place--and try not to talk out of my a$$ like conservatives about issues I know nothing about.

It is ONLY because of regulations that our air and water is relatively clean now--a fact that seems to get lost on conservatives. I assume that if experts tell me there is a problem with carbon in the atmosphere, with climate change, or with a certain toxic in the environment, that the experts know what they are talking about. I'm not stupid enough to try and tell experts that they're wrong about environmental regulations--and not corrupt enough, like our disgraceful EPA head Scott Pruitt, whose been a proven energy industry toady for many years. Most regulations are put in place for good reasons--and then conservatives come along and complain that they are SUCH a burden on the poor big billion-dollar corporations of America.

The poor big billion dollar corporations of America?..... are these the same ones that don't pay the poor American worker enough to keep the from shopping at Walmart? Lol.... you're such a dumbass.

Liberals like yourself think money grows on trees and that corporations that provide people jobs and benefits are evil.... that everyone deserves more.... even when they show up late and leave early.... that's not how it works..... there's a thing called competition.... the US is competing with China, India and other developing countries that aren't over burdened with environmental regulations and excessive taxation.

I believe there is a need for environmental regulations and controls, but not excessive ones.... and trust me..... there are a lot that are excessive. I worked for an environmental engineering and consulting firm for a number of years and saw them first hand.

Just think about how bad the candidate and message have to be to lose to this clown show.
You love getting on the high horse about blaming red state voters, yet it's blue and purple states that got Trump elected.

I'd be curious to know how many of you liberals that post here worked your way up the old fashioned way by working hard or did you ride daddy's coat tails? I also see a lot of references to stupid people in the south. I've lived and traveled all over the country and the world and there are no more stupid people in the south than there is anywhere else I've been.

Ride daddy's coat tails likes the President and all his children??? Nope didn't do that. Went to college, flunked out. Went to the military, got an education while I was in. Retired, opened a small business that has grown to a 2 office company which will hopefully be 3 by next year.

Neither of my parents graduated college, father was a factory worker, mom ran a very small business.

Just not enough of them. Then, you start tinkering with people's healthcare, that you will inevitably screw up, and you are going to lose even more of your barely-enough coalition.

If the GOP/Trump (should) have learned any lessons from Obama's political failures, it would be that it is way, way worse to own a problem that affects millions in a personal way verse "attempting" to fix said problem.

I'm a liberal. I was raised with my three sisters in a four room shack without running water up until the age of twelve, at which time my parents were able to purchase a two bedroom house. We lived on a 70 acre cattle farm and I worked my ass off from a very early age up until I went to college. From there I worked my ass off in the classroom until I got my doctorate. After that I worked my ass off for thirty nine years as an English professor at UT Martin. Luckily, terrypedigo never ended up in one of my classes.

Having decency and caring about others doesn't have anything to do with how poor you were growing up!

You had FOUR rooms. Privileged.

Poor Terry P, I love his posts even though they make my eyes bleed.

Classical liberal or Socialist?

Nearly 4,000 EPA Regulations Issued Under President Obama

..."“The President disregards the Constitutional limits of his office and public opinion to forward his own liberal agenda…[and] in promoting his agenda, he has allowed EPA to become the mouthpiece for ideological propaganda"...

..."Vice Chairman Pete Olson (R-Texas) echoed the concerns of Chairman Whitfield and Mr. Porter during his questioning of Janet McCabe, Acting Assistant Administrator for the EPA’s Office of Air and Radiation. Rep. Olson argued that the EPA’s drafting of the Clean Power Plan (CPP) amounted to the Agency writing laws, far outside the scope of EPA statutory authority and in clear violation of the Constitution.

Subcommittee members further pointed out that the EPA is so removed from the rule of law that it has continued to move forward with new rules to implement the CPP, despite the Supreme Court having issued a stay of the rule. Obviously under Obama’s “pen and phone” mentality, EPA bureaucrats feel emboldened to continue enacting major regulations without fear of legal recourse or retribution from Congress or the public.

It is clear from the Subcommittee hearing that President Obama has allowed, and even encouraged, EPA regulators to stretch the legal limits of the U.S. Constitution and the Agency’s statutorily granted authority. The President is obviously indifferent to the regulatory precedent he has set, as well as the impact his economically destructive “legacy” will have on American families, businesses, and the economy.
