I have perfectly sound logic.
Nicolletti down to Tennessee and Florida State. She visits FSU this month and will be on her official to Tennessee in June with her dad. She has made multiple trips to Knoxville.
Morgan Jones is supposedly making an official in the coming weeks as well.
Decosta leaders are presumed to be Tennessee and Louisville.
Massengill and Collins are considered top 15 players by everyone but Hoopgurlz, which is ran by one guy from out here on the West Coast.
The difference between 2018 and 2016 classes is we had an extremely narrow focus and Holly and staff acknowledged it and was one of the reasons a staff change was made as well as using Law as a lead recruiter.
It paid off for 2017 and will likely pay off for 2018.
I like studying recruiting. Does not matter if its The Titans, little league baseball, UT basketball etc. Just an odd past time for me personally.
Our recruiting over the last few years ..... or lack there of .... well we all have our thoughts.
Does anyone know how unusual 2018 is for the state of Tennessee! First of all there are only 60 recruits listed so far by Hoop girls. Eventually will be 100 but not yet.
2018 has six now in the top 60. Levy dropped out
2017 has one in top 60 (Hayes)
2016 has two ( Dangerfield & Carter)
2015 has one ( MeMe)
2014 has one (Alexa)
2013 has one (Davis)
That's six recruits in the top sixty in the last Six years!
We had three of them go to UT.
There were Seven in the top sixty in 2018. That's more in one year than in the last six years! Pretty special group of young ladies playing basketball in Tennessee. Obsession.... statistics.... logic.... call it what you want. But they are close to UT . Families can come see them play. And we got ONE ☝️ Just Saying
Seriously you think Tn girls are magical...go look up how many scholarships we offered to plays ranked 30 in above in last 20 years...they still are not the best players...we or after the best and brst fit for needs...top 10 you take no question of position but after top 20 there is a good change we are hot after 2 other higher ranked players at that position. Most of these TN girls are guards...we don't need 5 guards in a class. 2 a year is plenty if they are the right ones. At that rate we would have 8 guards on a squad...too many! We have 2 awesome guards coming in. I believe 1 commit 2018 and 1 in 2019. We don't need ever guard the state of tn produces.1 or 2 in 2018, preferable 2...that means 1 more. We are after i believe 3 guards right now in 2018 and i sm sure Holly has the TN guard plethera social media contacts done should plans A, B, and C give her one bit on bite or brush off. Dangerfield would have been a sign at all cost but she never considered UT. Other than her I don't believe we lost a top 10 or 20 TN player and if we did i bet, if you look at recruiting, she was ranked lower than what we signed at that position. Davis was a late bloomer and we had no scholarships left...one opened with...wait for it a great tn guard recruit...McMahon out of maryville gave up basketball due to knees...we signed Simmons. Would have muched rather had Davis personally, but many thought that worked out great.
Oh about worrying about perception...like opinions and rear ends everyone has one. I wouldnt worry what others think. Those in the know would trade places on our recruiting for 2018 in a second for their's. We will be 1st or 2nd in recruiting I know it...but that is just my perception out of my rear end lol

PGR I have reread some of our post and i just want to put this out there. I appreciate and admire your devotion for the Lady Vols as i do as well. I hope our budding heads in no way angers you or is taken personally. We obviously want what is best. I try to be a gentlemen at all times but i love debating and as i mentioned in one of are previous battles I am retired...so i got lots of time on my hands. Anyway, i hope you harbor no ill will toward me, or any others i might of stepped on their toes. We are a community of fans...minus the trouble makers lol. But i read this forum daily and it is nice getting to know unanimous personalities. I am truly sorry if i have ever made you mad in a way that wasn't enjoyable...birkering on the form. Truly i am sorry if that has happened. I am publically saying this to you as it seems we are becoming sparring mates...i enjoy you opinion and i hope we can keep it up...and look forward to us seeing eye to eye on a topic soon. Take care everybody. Go Lady Vols!
What I like about statistics is that it is so easy to make a point by using the wrong comparison. When comparing how many top recruits come from a given state compared with all others, 1 state of 50 would not be accurate. But, although the premise is wrong but the answer is correct - two percent. What's with all of the hostility Holly! I think Disneyland is magical . I said: "unusual and special"
There are 50 states in the US. We are one which is 2% of the whole US. We have 6 of the top 60 ranked by HG. That is 10% of the top girls basketball players for 2018 that live in Tennessee! NO MAGIC but statistically impressive! " I don't believe we lost any top 10 player". Right ( only been 3 in past 10 years) ( Graves, Crystal, Hayes) Never had 6 in top 60 that I can remember?
Don't need guards??? How about replacing the two we just lost! Were they the RIGHT guards you were talking about? We now have one that has played at least one second in the SEC.
Don't need 5 guards? I saw someone play five guards in last minutes of a game to control the ball! You are right again....we can't do that!
Most recruits in TN. are guards. Correct .. but Dixon was not and going to Ga. Tech. If you have watched any of these girls play you would know that Alexander is not a guard even though she is listed as a guard.
You are right about awesome guards coming and they have zero experience to go with MeMe. That gives us three guards next year if we don't have any injuries or more transfers! I can't remember..... has UT had any injuries or transfers lately ????
I agree with your perception.
I look at ESPN recruiting and see that we are recruiting a post for 2018 from Georgia, Jessika Carter 6-3. She is rated a 90. Honestly, I am not sure we have a bigs coach that can develop players that are considered projects.

Christyn Williams trims list to final 6. Dropped South Carolina, added Texas.

Williams will make the biggest decision of her young life by next November as she intends to ink her letter of intent during the early signing period.

Sounds like Baylor, UCONN, and TN are in the drivers seat as she said she will visit those schools in the fall that's 3 of the 5 officials. I'm thinking UCLA will be an official because of distance and cheaper to get them to pay and the 5th I don't know. Just my two cents but hey she said relationships are important so there ya go!
Substitute Baylor for Texas.
UConn is the leader, and has been for a long time.
