Predicted Wins - Vegas- ESPN

3rd in the SEC East and we are should be searching for a new coach. Jones has righted the ship, but he needs to show he can actually coach and scheme.
Butch ain't going anywhere. Sorry to disappoint you. The only way he does is if he has a losing season. Last year without the injuries UT goes 10-2 or 11-1 at the worst. I know everyone has injuries but 16-18, not even Bama recovers from that. They lost one starter and panicked. We lost most of the defensive team. Quit being negative.

Really besides Bama and LSU nobody is projected with any higher than 8 wins, it will more than likely shake out differently overall than the projections. GBO!

It always shakes out differently. The question is do you take the over or the under???

That never stopped Florida from beating us in the past. What am I missing?

UF is a different team under McElwain. It took a miracle for UF to win in Gainesville (5 4th down conversions is insanely lucky) and last year we rolled them in Knoxville. Their offense was so bad in the 2nd half that Jumper looked like an All SEC LB. Their defense was the only thing that kept that game close. We turned the ball over 3 times in their territory and the guys that caused those will be playing on Sunday and their backups aren't anywhere near as talented.

Oh come on, we've got 9 wins in the bag. Maybe 10 with LSU at home. Wait, is Butch still the coach? OK, 7 wins.

None of that is true other than Jones likely staying another year unless he has a losing season. We did not "lose most of our defensive team". Go back and look at it. Quit pushing inaccurate narratives.

Yeah. Sour grapes for us I guess.

I remember a time not too long ago when we were among the top 1 or 2 SEC teams and people feared playing us every year. Not any longer though.

Not sour grapes. My post may be misleading. I meant to say the top 2 teams in the SEC-West.

Here is an article from ESPN showing predicted wins per Vegas

http://www.espn.com/chalk/story/_/id/19413753/college-football-full-list-unders-cg-technology

Alabama 10.5 -150o
LSU 9 -120o
Auburn 8
Florida 8 -120u
Georgia 8
Tennessee 7.5 -130u
Texas A&M 7
Arkansas 7
Missouri 6.5 -120o
Kentucky 6 -130o
Mississippi State 5.5
South Carolina 5.5 -125u
Mississippi State 5.5

Honestly this sounds about right based on what we know today. I pick us to win 8 based on what I think will happen but 7 wins is possible based on Butch's propensity to lose several we should not each season.

SIAP - Flame Away!

I see that Vegas odds have vandy & ole miss both kicked out of the SEC. I was talking to a friend of mine yesterday and he was surprised that no one in Knoxville hates ole miss like we do in WEST TN. Y'all didn't even notice that they were left off the list along with vandy. Or maybe Vegas knows that they are going to have to PRE-vacate any wins.

We always have problems with UF backups. Again, never stopped Florida from beating us before.

The GaTech game will be a good barometer. A decisive win makes 10 wins a real possibility. A close win probably points to 8 or 9. A loss to the "jackets" will make 8 a stretch.

GO BIG ORANGE!

I'm sorry but going by the margin of victory on the first game of the season as a barometer for wins is risky business. Just sayin. GBO!!!!!

Sorry bud, but this isn't remotely accurate. And I'm not being negative. It's called reality. Perhaps indulge it sometime.

What the h--- do FSU and Mich. have to do with winning the SEC east???

I think it's nearly everyone in the east has a chance of winning the title, but to me it's us, ga. AND fla. with the best chance to come out on top this coming season.

NOTHING!! I just said Florida has a tough schedule and I think it will be between uga and TN.

I'm leaning towards 9 based on experience returning and coaching staff upgrades. We have also spaced out our tougher games.

Of Course we have the toughest SECwest draw as usual with the 2 best teams (unless Auburn outperforms)

I think 7 is about right for this team. We need to get past Tech with a win and no injuries to get to 7 though.

We always have problems with UF backups. Again, never stopped Florida from beating us before.

The dynamic is changing down there with Jimbo Fisher dominating the rivalry. UF back ups use to beat us b/c they were great players, just young. UF isn't winning many recruiting battles against FSU so their back ups are 3 * guys instead of 4 * guys. I see UF as a 5 loss team. Problem is that might be bad enough for them to bring in Chip Kelly as head coach

Listening to a gambling show yesterday and when the Westgate posted Tennessee at 7.5 wins, many of the sports gambling people here are saying it's almost a sure bet to take the under. Many can't find 8 wins on the schedule.

Obviously injuries to other teams can change things but if what Vegas says is correct, Butch may be shown the door

I think Butch better manufacture 8 regular season wins.

He hasn't heard anything yet.
