naples: Pastry and "hot chocolate" (was literally melted dark chocolate in a cup)
cruise ship to palermo: Spaghetti
palermo: Went to a fresh market for lunch and they had all kinds of fresh fruit, fresh fish, fresh meat. Had the best piece of foccacia i've ever had off a small vendor on the sidewalk.
Visited sferracavallo (a small beach area near palermo) for dinner and it was never-ending. The food just kept coming and coming. They served 10 appitizers including a meat tray, cheese tray, brushetta, french fries, smelts, octopus (literally it was an entire octopus put in front of us), anchovies, fried calamari, mussels. Then the pasta dishes started they served lasagna, clams and spaghetti, seafood risoto, risotto with sausage and mushrooms, and a pasta in a white cream sauce with different kinds of seafood. Then the main entrees came out. It was swordfish (filet in front of you), baby lobster, shrimp, grilled chicken, grilled pork chops, sausage, meatball. Dessert included a lemon sorbet, coffee and lemoncello.
Marsala: Stopped for lunch and had a gelato
agrigento: Bruschetta, cheese, olives, gnocchi, herb crusted pork loin in a brown gravy, roasted potatoes and tomatoes with a breadcrumb topping, pistachio ice cream cake for dessert.
