United Airlines New Seating Chart

And he is totally in the wrong here as well. That's all I'm saying. I've never once said it's fair but it's the rules we fly by now. Personal responsibility by reading the CoC is what I'm asking. Not throw a fit like a three year old on a plane and not expect to get removed
What's your opinion on the March on Selma? They were wrong in the eyes of the law too, but history has proven them to be right. Do you feel that those protesters "knew the rules and got what was coming for disobeying law enforcement"?

Obeying the rules like a good little drone never effected change, however sometimes "throwing a fit like a three year old" does

He stated the facts at the begging of the article. Undisputed. The doctor was wrong here. The situation is a mess but he is in the wrong. Because you hate Clay Travis your bias can't see the facts presented

LOL! I don't hate Clay Travis. I find him entertaining. I've never disputed United's right to do what they did. Sometimes it's wiser to waive your rights.

yes, tantrums are the way to get things solved. Brilliant. This isn't a Selma issue or even close to rosa parks and you just made a horrible stupid correlation

Wait what? Are you saying united was right? Even I can't keep up with who is where here. I'm only saying this doctor is in the wrong and he doesn't deserve any compasation from United. Maybe the police but not United

Some say United had the right. Some say they didn't. Words matter in contracts. We'll see what attorneys and juries think. I'm only saying, regardless of if they had the right, it wasn't the best way to handle it and it's going to cost them.

But you agree to their terms when you buy the ticket. So, don't fly or write your congressman.

If you need to get to your destination you don't have much choice. And I'm hoping Congress does take some sort of action. A person shouldn't be forced to sign an agreement like that in order to fly home. The industry has you over a barrel and it's wrong. If I book a flight whether it's days or even months in advance I should have the security that the ticket that I paid for is going to be honored. I shouldn't have to worry that I'm going to get bumped at the last minute because the airline is greedy and or incompetent.

Why do you presume to tell people how they should exact positive change? You write your congressman. The doctor held his ground. We'll see who changes what.

I agree about the attorneys and juries settling it. People can say he deserves nothing from United all they want and cling to some blurry CoC to somehow immunize them from any responsibility, but it's a stupid fight. Change your policy and move on.

Or go to a court room. Wave around unclear legalese and fine print in defense of a system that almost everyone admits is ridiculously wrong. See how that works out for you.

And as far as nothing happening because of it...Some airlines are already upping their incentive policies and giving their gate agents more flexibility. It's a clever PR play, but changes nonetheless.

He wasn't standing up for anyone. He was acting like an entitled brat. This isn't gonna change anything for the better. If anything happens of significance, the cost will go up.

He wasn't acting entitled he was standing up for his right to stay on a flight that he fully paid for, was scheduled for, and was already seated for. The airline company is the one that made the wrong decision here not the passenger. If you don't think so then ask the airline yourself if they made a mistake. They've already come out and said they did. You continued arguing for the airline is complete moot. The guilty party stood up already. This incident will change policies and reactions to similar situations whether you think it will or not. This incident, regardless of how you feel about it, shed a very bright light on how these airline companies have been abusing passengers and their rights for a very long time. For every one of these incidents that actually went public there are 100 that didn't. If you want to be part of the cow herd that just does what it's told despite how much inconvenience it causes you then I fully invite you to bend over, take one up the rear, and get off the plane.

Held his ground? Ok.

I'm sure that's what this guy was thinking.

"I am going to exact some positive change."

Airline messed up on overbooking or whatever you want to call it. Removing this guy wasn't a mistake. It was how they were going to correct their original mistake.

I would say countless times people have been overbooked and booted to another flight. This is the only one I have seen on the news. The ONLY reason you hear about this one is because the shocking nature of the video (which doesn't show the whole story) that gives people the opportunity to feign outrage. The SJW crowd and the entitlement generation running to latch on to the cause of mistreated passengers. Give me a break.

I bet the same group of people who think this doctor is some kind of martyr are the same people who want to jail every single cop who shoots someone.

They say things like "he didn't deserve to die for stealing from a store." That's not why they got shot. They got shot for their actions after. False narrative.

Same with the doc. "He didn't deserve to take a beating for their screw up." He didn't. He took the beating for refusing to get off the plane. False narrative.

Then they come up with every hypothetical under the sun to suggest other alternatives that don't end with the outcome we got on Monday. How about you have a little respect for authority and use a little common sense? That's one way this gets resolved without getting bloodied up.

Dude, this is so so bad

Not sure what's bad about it.

The doctor is the guy honking his horn in a traffic jam. He's the guy who gets over onto the shoulder and passes everyone in a traffic jam. He thinks he's above being inconvenienced and that he's more important than the others in the same position. He's not Rosa Parks.
