Actually my first ever prediction on this site was 1st-2nd round. I went to 1st round later when I thought we were gonna win the national title in 2016 and Dobbs would get the national title bump Deshaun Watson is currently enjoying.

Right now I think 2nd round is a good possibility based on the buzz. But then again NFL GMs prove themselves to be dumb every year in how they draft. All I know is everyone who doesn't take Dobbs in the 1st round this year will feel stupid in 2-3 years when he's one of the 5 best QBs in the NFL.

Wow, I guess Andrew Luck, Aaron Rodgers, Derek Carr, Cam Newton, and Matt Ryan will all be retired in 5 years. That's 5 right there that he certainly won't crack into the middle of and I'm probably missing more.

Russel Wilson and Tom Brady, though Brady will probably be retired in 5 years

Two back sets throws one of the those backs in the garbage for a play.... there is a reason you do not see split backs anymore in football... you are wasting a legitimate threat to the defense...

Oneback offense all day long....
It really depends on the skill sets of the RBs though. If your two RBs are just pure RBs, then yeah I get what you're saying. But I'd argue that our 12 personnel with Hurd, Kamara, and Dobbs presented a lot of challenges for defenses that most other teams' 12 personnel wouldn't present.

When we had Hurd and Kamara both playing at full effort, having them both on the field was our most dangerous formation IMO. One of those guys was gonna present a mismatch for a defender and 2/3 had the explosiveness to really make a defense pay if a single guy missed his read.

Hurd' skillset basically made him like a 2nd TE who could lead block/pass block for Dobbs or Kamara and also be a threat in the passing and running game. Kamara was as shifty as any back in the NCAA last year and good enough in the passing game he could probably have played slot for a lot of teams. Dobbs of course is probably the best running QB we've ever had play here.

Because of those varying skill sets, teams had to choose whether to defend it as 12 or 21 personnel, when really the guys we had on the field were versatile enough to us to run plays as if we had both sets of personnel on the field at once.

If every team had two guys with the skill sets of Hurd and Kamara, I think you'd see a lot more two back sets nowadays. But most teams don't have that kind of talent in the backfield (or at least not two backs who are as versatile as those two were).

Yeah those two actually were perfect for it. Had Hurd not been on his BS we would've seen something special. Smh

I'm not surprised. Kelly is a violent little bastard.

I don't know why anyone would be surprised. They are only around 15lbs different. I would say Kelly squats more than DK.

Kelly is 5'9" and DK is 6'1"
Kelly got under him and moved him back. I would almost expect this to happen. Nothing for anyone to worry about.

Barnett invited Butch to hang with him and his family at the draft in Philly. Big time PR win for Butch and the program.

Shaq Wiggins is a grad transfer from Louisville and apparently South Carolina and UT are on his short list.

He any good? Worth a roster/scholarship spot?

Definitely worth a spot if we have a spot available, which we will. He would only count against the 85 limit for the 1 year, so it wouldn't change anything recruiting wise.

Tennessee cornerback Justin Martin already can see a noticeable difference in Vols coach Butch Jones this year.

Past the halfway point of Tennessee’s five weeks of spring practice, Martin said Thursday that Jones is “starting to relax a lot” and “starting to get looser” — both on and off the field — going into his fifth season with the Vols.

“Coach Jones, he’s starting to relax a lot,” Martin said Thursday in his first meeting with local media during his Tennessee career. “The team takes the vibe of their head coach because that’s just how it is, so Coach Jones is starting to get looser, starting to relax a little bit more, and I feel like that’s just opening everybody up.”

Martin, a former junior-college transfer who’s now a rising senior, said he has seen a difference in Jones’ demeanor “everywhere — on the practice field, inside the meetings” — and that has helped Tennessee become a “real close” team.

“I just feel like we’re a real close group together,” Martin said. “It’s not really anybody on the team that’s just far and separated. We all hang out with each other outside of football. We make sure people stay out of trouble as much as we can. I just feel like we’re close.”

What's the story with Wiggins? He started at Georgia then went to Louisville and now is a grad transfer this year. Was there problems at his previous schools or he just likes to bounce around?

Well he graduated that counts for something I would think...

I'm actually surprised more guys don't become grad transfers. Seems like a pretty cool way to get to spend some time on another college campus. I'm sure it's not for everyone, but would think more would do it.

He followed Grantham around. From Georgia to Louisville and grantham left for Mississippi State.. But Petrino blocked Mississippi state from schools he could transfer to. Look for him to get back in the SEC

Basketball it happens a hell of a lot more. I agree with you. If you aren't playing a whole lot on your team, graduate and play your last year somewhere you might get a better opportunity. Transferring earlier in your career could work out, but I'd say grad transfers typically have higher success.

Need some help please. Who are the Quality Control Coaches for this year? I know we hired Eric Lewis on the defensive side and Tony Sorrentino on the offensive side. Where there any others. Seems like there was a 3rd. Thanks.
