I think Dobbs is really going to surprise people as a pro. This will be the first time Josh will be able to fully to commit to football and I think he'll see a larger jump in performance than expected for most QBs and not just because his accuracy issues have been way overblown. I don't think people quite grasp the enormous workload he was taking on at UT and the amount of effort it takes to be a top QB and top student in a very difficult major. Dobbs being able to fully focus himself on one thing should pay very good dividends, especially with his work ethic.

Exactly. The decreased academic workload plus increased talent around him along the offensive line and wide receiver will definitely help him shine as a pro QB.

And when he becomes a star in the NFL everyone will act like it was obvious just as they pretend now with Dak Prescott.

You will never likely hear me say anything like this again in my life: this UConn Miss State game is really good.

Trent Dilfer said just as much. He said last year at the Opening that JG is almost too talented. He's got everything you could want from a QB physically. Very much like a young Colin Kaepernick.

Stop comparing JG to colin kapernick. I'm hoping that Jarrett is nothing like colin kap.

Between Dobbs' own performances at the Senior Bowl, Combine, and Pro Day and the fact that teams don't want to be the one to take a pass on the next Dak, I think you're right. Even without Dak, Dobbs is too damn intriguing in terms of personality, intelligence, and skillset to let go too far down the draft board and teams are going to be more ready to jump on a QB pick that can pay dividends later than they are at other positions.

Also, it's been very overlooked by fans and media alike that even before his senior year Dobbs would have a field day passing when our OL could actually deal with the opponent's pass rush -- unfortunately that didn't happen nearly enough. His accuracy also improved when our WRs finally improved (right about when CBJ took a personal interest in the unit). People have forgotten just how under-performing our WR unit was prior to then.

His ability to lead his team back from impossible deficits (which he did multiple times at UT) is enough to raise eyebrows regarding the intangibles and potential he brings to the table.

Well said Prof, well said.

Good post.

I had to go to bed to be up at 4:30 for a dance competition, so I missed it. Great win for Miss. St. I have to say that Geno handled the loss very graciously.

I also had to get up early today for work. I flipped on ESPN in the background. Great win for MISS ST! But why the heck was Holly Rowe interviewing Dakota Prescott instead of the young lady that just took down the UCONN juggernaut? ESPN is so stupid.

So. Holly beat both teams playing for the championship?

And still ended up with 12 losses for the season. Currie needs to fire Holly and back the Brinks truck up to Vic Schaeffer's door. What he has done at Miss St is impressive!

What a game last night! I jumped up and yelled like TN won. So glad those girls didn't lose due to a pitiful call by the refs. And yes, I know it's women's basketball, but it was an instant classic.

Don't be calling my axe a hatchet. That's offensive.

So you think that wee thing is an axe? You must have disappointed quite a few ladies in your time. Lol.

I apologize for that there. Be with pygmies down in New Guinea.
