VT was completely shut down after the first quarter. Florida could not do anything our DL was so dominant in the second half, and you're right, app state was slowed down completely in the second half as well. If we did that all year we win 11 games. That's were injuries impacted us in a big way. We didn't play well all year no doubt, but we were 5-0 before we started dropping players like flies. We don't lose to Candy or SC if we're healthy and we give Bama a dang good fight twice

It was a combination of an inordinate amount of injuries and the first year in a new system. It didn't help that Martinez and Shoop were apparently at odds over technique.

My issues last year have more to do with seeing players, LBs, not getting better - not getting to the ball carrier. Some of it is as you said. Some of it was coaching and development.

I am hopeful Shoop will have a better group this year, better development and way less injuries.

You didn't see any flashes in App ST, the last 3 qtrs. against VT? The entire 3rd qtr against Florida not one 1st down and we had already lost at least 2 linebackers by then. JMO but I am not worried about the defense this year. They looked much better against Nebraska after time to heal up some and that was still with 2nd and 3rd teamers..

I was Bassmastered!! One of these days I'm going to learn to read on a few pages before I react to a post I don't agree with.. Tennessee Golfer beat me too..

We'll see what happens. Remember everyone thought Sammy Watkins was better than OBJ in college and the draft. And we all saw how that turned out in the NFL.

Antonio Callaway will be a better NFL WR than Ridley and Kirk.

I know you know nothing about actual football... And I know that you know that I know that I do. I have accepted this is why you won't respond to me. That's fine. However, Sammy Watkins lack of production has nothing to do with talent and everything to do with injuries... OBJ got confident that is the difference between him and a lot of other guys... He has great hands, runs great routes, and is confident... Antonio callaway can be very good, however he has made some pretty poor decision. I don't just say stupid sh&@ on here to get attention, so I can not say for sure where all of them will end up because I haven't watched tape... (And no you haven't either)

I think his humor sucks. I think it's juvenile and asinine and lacks any shred of intelligence. I think he's derivative of Will Ferrell and the South Park guys. I think he uses absolutely ridiculous situations as a crutch for his absence of cleverness in his writing. I think he lacks natural comedic ability and would get shredded at a place like Sassy Ann's.

And I won't get offended if you think I'm wrong on every point.

And you shouldn't be offended when people have different opinions on what is funny.

Just because someone is famous and makes millions, doesn't make them talented. See Britney Spears and Nicolas Cage and Nickelback and countless others.

Props for doing open mic stand up. It's tough, I know from personal experience. It's part of why I dislike Rogen so much, because there are so many people funnier than he is who never make it past open mic night, while he makes millions off what I think is mediocre humor at best (I'm not including myself in the funny people category, and it's far from jealousy why I dislike him).

Don't get so riled up when someone disagrees with you. This is the last I'll say on Rogen since I'm sure 99% don't care and are annoyed with the discussion.

Jumper isn't exactly an SEC level lb either. Shoop saved our season early on, offense picked up some slack when injuries killed our defense. Looking forward to the possibility of both playing a decent game on the same day this year.

Fell apart once we lost our DTs. DOB, Tuttle and KMAC were gone then the wheels fell off on defense. Shoop will be fine. Not worried about a guy with one bad year on his resume. Not allowed to bring his own coaches and asked to coach someone else system with bad strength coach.

What the hell man?
Way to take that out of context. I said they have the POTENTIAL to be dominant or fail. If enough things go bad, it could go really bad. My point was we have the potential to do both...fail or succeed, spectacularly, I think we will have a fair amount of both, resulting in a good, but not great season. BB was the going off the deep end in his prediction.
