Kwe Parker question

I did not say he has academic issues and is leaving. I said IF HE LEAVES it will be because of academic issues... he's burned his redshirt therefore I do not think he is going to leave unless he is forced to leave.

Unless he is STILL (continuing, ongoing) having academic issues which kept him off the court? We know his issue was a clearinghouse issue and NOT a grade issue. So, how could he still be having a clearinghouse issue, since we just watched him play an entire season?

He had an academic issue that cost him his redshirt. Quit being a dick.

Academics are not an issue with Turner. He had the academic patch on his jersey this year. Turner has been here for two years so I wouldn't expect him to have any issues with academics.

Not surprised. Wish him the best wherever he goes. Hopefully he expands on his game because he can't dunk over everybody at 6'2"

So now are we going after a grad transfer with Kwe leaving? What are our mostly likely options to replace him?

They're gonna explore all options...Oliver is in Kansas scouting JUCO's, Barnes' and Schwartz have been checking out some high school guys, and they're keeping their eye on who may come open on the graduate transfer market as well.

How do you know he isn't leaving on his own?

I'm sure he is, didn't mean to imply that he was forced, meant we should've tried to convince him to stay. That, or given the man the minutes he deserved down the stretch. No way he could've played worse than what we were getting.

So who is making the foolish move and how?

We might regret this move about four years from now. If he does become a great player it won't happen anytime soon. Problem is that he has a long ways to go and was not showing signs of working hard to improve his skills. He will benefit from this and we will as well. We need a more polished player. That can contribute much sooner.

Fans have anxiety when any player leaves. The assumption always being that he didn't get a reasonable chance to perform and/or that he's going to blossom at another school. While that happens sometimes, I don't see it often enough to consider it the norm. Most of the players that have departed in recent memory have gone on to do what? How many that fans have been panicked over losing have gone on to be anything close to a very good to great player somewhere else? The vast majority of these "project" types just fade from the scene and memory. Wish Parker well, but I'm losing no sleep over his departure. Honestly, I can't think of a single basketball player on the roster that I wouldn't say that about.

Based on what? Some youtube dunk contest videos?

I agree he didn't show much but he was a good defender and I think later the season when Turner was struggling and we were losing he should have got more minutes. Hopefully wherever he goes he will make best of his opportunity

Wes Washpun 2.0 IMHO. Both athletic monsters but both need/needed to work on their basketball fundamentals.

Foolish for Tennessee that we didn't play him more this year, players can't adapt to in game situations with out being out in them. If we can get someone who can help immediately I guess it's worth it, but give me a 4 year player over a one year all day.
