All I'm saying (I already quoted myself) is we shouldn't take him for granted. We took Tee for granted and look what happened. Nothing is ever certain. I completely agree with your simplified response to my simplified question 5+ others were inept to answer.

I think AT will continue to rise in the rankings. Hopefully he signs with the good guys.

No, we didn't take Tee for granted. He just looked at the Clemson offer, and for him he saw it as a better opportunity. Now, this is just my impression of him on local TV, but despite his talent, I am not broke up about him going to Clemson. Seems like he might have been another Hurd here.

Now, I am not saying Taylor is that way too. If he is? Spare us the trouble. But if he is a stand up guy, behaves himself, and wants to be here? You bet I want him.

Josh Palmer is going to be a star too I think. The 2017 class wasn't ranked where we wanted it to be but I think a lot of really good players are going to emerge from it

Screw the class ranking. It don't make my cup of coffee at Waffle House any cheaper, and it don't win national championships. All that really ever will be is a peeing for distance contest.

What matters is the individual players and how adding them effects the team. Once you stop letting ESPN or 24/7 think for you, and really look at the guys we got? We have some good ones, now let's hope we got the guys who can develop them.

The only negative things I've heard of Tee are from those salty over his decision itself. Beyond that where are these rumors coming from? If anything Alontae's recruitment is going more so like Preston Williams if anything.

I personally believe we took him for granted bc he was once a commit, grew up a Vol fan, grew up extremely close to UT, and told coaches and media we were his leaders days before his commitment to CU. Everyone and their mother said we had Tee in the bag. JMO

Maybe we took him for granted because he lied to the coaching staff. I don't know the kid, but I have heard several people who do and know nothing about this message board say negative things about him even prior to his decision. That doesn't mean those things are true, but just because you didn't hear something doesn't mean it wasn't said. The idea that we took him for granted after all the access he was given to coaches and facilities is a little far fetched though. It's history, but this is one I don't blame on the coaches.

And I'm withholding comment on "Tee in the bag".

Bad advice, Dad- you would get me bullied/mugged if I were in high school.

TNNative just answered the exceedingly simple question I've asked Sanddune and the rest of you and none of you could answer. He also did it in one post. Amazing.

Also, get out of here with your nonsense analogy of the unstable creature you know of in your life. I like you Glitch, but like I said, that's some soft advice for a question and posts none of you had answers for. Sanddune had one word responses and claimed my posts didn't make sense when someone just responded to my post completely understanding the nature and context of it. Again, another reason why you're drop it (sweep it under the rug) advice was awful. I would have grown up very sensitive and soft spoken always backing down whenever I got questioned and/or mocked and I'm sure glad I was raised to throw a punch for every punch thrown at me.

It's quite evident you all tailor your posts for likes instead of answering questions and/or elaborating on previous statements or claims (not talking about you). Personally, I prefer humor and friends in the real world but hey, some people like internet swag. 😎😂

Anyway if you haven't heard, only AT knows what is going on in his head and none of you do and neither do I. It's been a pleasure

V, B

The unstable creature is my daughter. She is a pre-teen whose mood can change at the drop of a hat thanks to the pubescent hormones she is dealing with. She whines less than you. She has to deal with kids that act like you at her school. She can't stand it either. The only advice I can give her is to ignore them. So from here on out I will follow that same advice and not respond to you. :hi:

I did not mention a rumor at all. That is just my impression from TV interviews with him. Higgins is a great athlete, but he also seemed more than well aware of it. I don't have a problem with swagger, but I just feel he had just a little too much.

Both Hurd and Williams shared that trait with him. And after both bailed in-season, I don't worry about losing another gifted player with an ego to match. And everyone and their Mother who said we had Tee in the bag was full of crap. His close friendship with Armani Rodgers is what swung him away. Screw what he tells the media.

Lastly, I don't see your comparison of Taylor's recruitment to Williams at all. I feel Taylor is still solid to Tennessee, but is upset because he really like Coach Azzani. They had a bond. If Beard can establish a bond with him, he should be solid again. It isn't like Tennessee fired the coach he likes.

Good post I agree w/ most. I do remember people saying Tee was asked about at UT and said something of this sort, "why would I go to UT when I can go to the real WRU?"

But yes, my last comment on my last post I should have chosen wiser words lol.

Our football team has a family culture feel to it so I understand we want players with good heads on their shoulders and who will sacrifice for the team. IDK if Tee was or wasn't that guy but it sucked to miss out on him. I completely understand and agree with that part.

As for the AT/PW comparison- all I'm saying is P Dub had us on our heels till his NLOI was in as he was flirting with Auburn/Ga before signing day. He would make controversial posts on twitter regarding his commitment to us kind of the same way AT does. I'm in no way saying they will end up the same, but Preston did like attention and keeping people guessing and that's the vibe I get from AT. Doesn't make him a bad guy he earned this opportunity, but I call it how I see it.

It annoys me, being born and raised in IN, that your screen name represents the two states that I love the most so poorly. Please stop.

As I've stated in the past, I live very close to Alontae and see him play quite often. From the recent people I've contacted that are actually on his football team, It sounds like it's going to be a fight against LSU. They said he talks about Tennessee and LSU evenly, but the coaches from LSU contact him a lot more than ours do. Said he is dying to get a OV to Baton Rouge, but he is still committed to Tennessee. Ugghhh sounds like this could be a battle to the end. Honestly a battle that probably leans on if Butch is fired or retained.

Wow

I know he is in a better situation than he probably ever has been, but why the Hell everyone is so high on Orgeron is a mystery to me. He has a losing record as a head coach and you can't understand a damn thing he says in top of that. I can see him winning some in his first few seasons with Miles players, but I see it falling apart after a few years.

I have mixed feelings about him. I don' think he's a great HC or anything, but he can recruit well and he's at a school that already recruits for itself to a certain extent while producing a lot of blue chip recruits.

I do think he has hired two of the best coordinators in CFB right now though. And if he's able to keep them in place another 2-3 years and LSU finally finds a QB worth half a damn, then I can see LSU pulling off a playoff run. All Orgeron has to do is be a manager, recruit, and stay out of Canada and Aranda's way for things to go well for LSU in the short term.

Now, what happens once Aranda and Canada decide to parlay their success into HC jobs will be VERY interesting to watch.

I'm honestly getting to the point where I don't care. The coaches shouldn't have to use all their efforts to recruit a commit. That commit should be helping them recruit other guys. It sounds like he needs to figure out where he wants to go before committing. So far, it's been all drama with him.
