Article: Why the Cleveland Browns are a perfect fit for Josh Dobbs

It obvious that the Browns are going to throw some crazy bananas deal at New England that has never been heard of before and new England is going to have a hard time passing it up, but it will come down to does New England think they can work with osweiler or replace garopollo for this season and go after Donaldson or someone else next draft.

see...still lots of ifs. the pats are in a precarious situation. they probably have another year, maaaybe two year window with Brady. at some point they're going to have replace him, and i think they'd like to follow the Packer model.

you've got several teams in the next couple/three years that are going to be looking at the future of their qb situation, and you have to ask, do any of them have the answers already on the roster? Steelers--nope. Pats--we'll find out if they ultimately wind up keeping JG. Giants--little further out, but this will be, what year 13 o 14 or Eli? Chargers....nope. Saints...nope.

QB is going to be an interesting position to watch over the next 2-4 years.

Basically the Browns don't see a QB ready to go in the next draft that they can get to. It's garoppolo or bust They are about to put everything on the table in front of New England and go "what do you want?" And New England is going to have a very hard time passing it up.

The Browns are zeroing in on SOMEBODY for QB real hard. They might throw cash, picks, and osweiler at New England. If not they will grab trubisky number one IMO.

I will make a ban bet with you that Cleveland, if they keep the #1 pick, will draft Garrett.

i'm not convinced the pats are looking deal for JG at this point. brady isn't getting younger, and if JG is the heir apparent, why would you get rid of him and take your chances in the next year or so on a rookie? or worse yet, a retread that hasn't proven anything as a starter in the league thru free agency?

the longer it drags on, the more i think the browns are going to get stuck with BO and his salary. and they'll still need a QB.

They aren't......the only trade they are even talking to right now is something involving Cooks and Butler.

no they won't, they'll have to pay BO his $16mil, and hope they find someone later that can eventually compete for the starter role.

You people are not paying attention. They are already set to hand 16 mill to osweiler and show him the door without a second thought. They have to.

If they can find a trade partner for something......almost anything...then he is gone. If not, what sense does it make to at least not see him in camp? Am I missing something about his contract that it will be a bigger hit if he plays for the Browns for 2017 instead of cutting him before camp? Arent all the roster bonus and other guaranteed money on the Texans?

For the third time. As mentioned in the first article. They have TOO MUCH MONEY. They have to fibd a way to burn it or they lose it next year.

well if they just release him outright, they still have to eat the cash.

and that, would be brilliant. all you get is 2nd round pick, next year, for your time and money. nice.

and you still need a qb.:eek:lol:

which is what htey basically did if they can't find a trade partner.

they'd of been better off writing a check to St. Judes. at least they could have written that off.

The only thing I see as a bonus for New England and Brock is that Bill Obrein carried the same system with him to penn state and Houston so he will be familiar with the system there.

I'm not sure they can. If they cut him before camp it will be a violation of the rule against paying for picks. They have to trade him or keep him into the preseason.

If the Browns use Osweiler as a means to an end to acquire Garoppolo, then this was a great move.

If they simply wind up cutting Osweiler and go into 2017 with Kessler paired with Trubisky, Watson, or Kizer, then this move was incredibly stupid.

Because this is the Browns, it will almost certainly be the latter. Even worse, they could decide to keep Osweiler.

What makes you think Garoppolo is any good?

I keep hearing this guys name. Is there film of him playing more than 1.5 games that I am unaware of?

Yea go back and watch his college tape... Or watch the 2 games he played in.... It's not about production the way te average fan thinks of it... It's about where his structure is I.e. Arm strength, throwing motion, quick feet, coverage recognition, touch, hips, body control, anticipation, O Line calls, leadership, pressure situations, shoulders, foot shoulder head... Almost all of those things are very strong....

That's 1.5 more games than anyone available in the draft. If he were coming out this year, he'd easily be the first QB off the board, given how generally lousy this year's QB class is.
