As Verne liked to call him, saw him in a couple drills but no 40 time or other measurable events??

Did he choose not to participate? If so, then why?

according to SEC Country...he has a viral illness...hard time keeping down fluids...ran a 4.88 and a 4.92...will run again at the Vols Pro Day...and,

Reeves-Maybin did not participate in any of the highlighted events, but he did take part in several linebacker drills. Reeves-Maybin was able to display his athleticism, ball skills and football smarts for scouts in those drills.

Imo, unless something I am unaware of, this is a terrible decision on his part not to take part.

As Barnett said, he chose to take part in events despite being sick because he thought it was that important. Basically a job interview.

I don't know, if he's sick or something I could see not doing the measured/timed events. He still worked out and a 40 or a vertical jump are going to be just as valid at UT's pro day as they are at the combine. Better to avoid a bad number if you don't think you're well enough to show off.

A marginal player as JRM is, should have taken the opportunity to show what he could do. For an undersized LB, I would think there are a lot of teams that already think he is not an NFL player. He blew one chance to show them wrong.

I see a future at Kroger's for this guy. Good luck.

Almost positive you guys should start representing NFL players.... I'm sure his agents who get paid based upon the dollar amount he signs for had a reason to limit his exposure. Not running the 40 at the combine has worked just fine for players in the past, players that didn't work at Kroger.

He was a good player for us but the NFL is a big step up. He can take anyone's advice he chooses but as an undersized LB with injuries in his resume, I would think he should be doing all he can to show each and every scout that he is NFL caliber.

These kids all have agents counseling them on what to do and when to do it. If JRM did not participate in some drills or whatever there's a great chance his agent counseled him not to and do it on down the line. The agent gets X%age, so he/she has $s on the table just as the athlete does and provides solid advice for the most $s.

Undersized and history of injuries. Don't think he gets drafted, but if he can convince teams his injury issues are not a concern, I think he will get a chance to make a roster.

Im betting you dont know anything about JRM personally or even on an academic level. For you to just assume he wont make anything of his life is racist weather you believe it or not. If he was white I would bet anything I own you would not have said that.
