Cam Sutton combine

He's holding off for the right time to show his athleticism.

The greatness of a corner comes more from instincts and intelligence of when to break on a football.

4.53 isn't a great time but Cam will be fine. Many great corners have run slower.

Got a 3rd round grade..not bad.

Not bad, agreed....still not first or second round and that's why he came back imo. Hope it pays off for him, but I got a feeling hes still 3rd or 4th round this year.

Cam has always been overrated. He was more visible because the rest of the dbs have been really bad.

Exactly, thakn you. Yes he was solid for us but solid in college is what all your starters should be in the P5. Sadly solid, and not lockdown don't ever throw to, in college rarely translates into anything more than a backup in the NFL. Heck the lockdown DBs in college turn into weak links in the D in the NFL.

I really expected better numbers for Cam at the combine I will have to admit. However, we all know how good Cam is. He might have been underrated all through his college years but at the combine tells the truth.

He really wasn't underrated in my opinion after all. He will still get drafted no doubt but I had him going in the early 2nd round but now I think it's going to be mid-late 3rd round pick. Good that he doesn't have any character issues to possibly lower him even further in the draft.

I swear Cam running all those PR's back he outran nearly everybody by quite a bit on those TD's. So, I'm just shocked he didn't get a 40 time under 4.50. I was thinking 4.45-4.48 the whole time.

That would have been the lowest times I would have predicted for him. Hope there wasn't a problem with a leg or hamstring or something else because I thought he was a little faster than that. Thanks!

Richard Sherman = 4.56 40
Josh Norman = 4.66 40

Those are arguably the two best CBs in the NFL right now.

The combine is a nice part of the evaluation. But its just one part. The best NFL players are typically the best for reasons other than pure athletic ability. They typically have the best instincts. They study the most tape. And are among the most intelligent.

CB is a position where instincts, film study, and technique are critical. Cam Sutton excels in all 3 of these intangibles. He'll be more than fine in the NFL.

I still maintain he'll be the best CB from this class.

Which is a top 66 player...

Which will still make him some decent coinage. All he has to do then is make people understand that he is worth more money on his second contract. I think he has the ability to be a really good NFL DB, he's just going to have to do a little more work to prove it.
