From Russia with love

Did any of you Dems have a problem with AG Eric Holder lying under oath? Did you call for his resignation? He refused to resign by the way even after admitting he lied.

I hope Sessions doesn't resign just for spite and make you mf'ers melt even more.

My lord, you're like a broken record. How many times are you going to point at bad behavior as an excuse for more bad behavior?

It speaks volumes that you're more concerned with spite than decent governance.

Here's the conundrum - if a theory exists that Trump colluded with Russia then any contact between anyone connected in anyway to Trump could be construed as evidence but the same type of contact absent the theory is completely innocent.

So far as I've seen none of the leaks from the intelligence agencies suggest any improper contact.

IOW - there is some selection bias at play in what is counted as evidence.

To date I've seen no sources from the intelligence side indicating any whiff of cooperation between Team Trump and Russia. Given Sessions met the day before with the Ukrainian ambassador I can see why the Russian ambassador wanted a word.

I'm not sold on any collusion with Sessions, but I am wary of the whole thing. Though, I don't think it will amount to any tangible consequence either way. There's definitely a factor of sensationalizing done by network news outlets. It's a sticky story.

OT, but have you ever listened to Metz? Their first record was good, but I recently bought their second release after forgetting about them. Not sure if noise punk is your thing, but it's got my ear lately.

It is a legit question for those arguing Sessions should resign.

Schumers comments about Lynch v Sessions are also worthy of examination for anyone who loves to point out hypocrisy.

Can any detractors admit Sessions did the right thing today? He put it to the DOJ ethics staff and followed through on their recommendations.

BTW - I'm not a fan of Sessions - his views on weed and asset forfeiture are terrible.

He absolutely did the right thing. He didn't have much of a choice though. His alternative would have been to say I'm in charge of investigating myself.

Haven't heard of them but I'll give a listen. Noise punk probably isn't my thing - have always valued a melody - but worth a try.

since I signed up for Apple Music I can try all sorts of stuff.

unrelated but you ever listen to any Tommy Guerrero? Skateboarder turned musician - good chill music.

LOL...Chucky Shumer meeting with Vlad himself. Time to expand the investigation.

Yes, I have a problem with Eric Holder or anyone else lying under oath.

He could have (accurately) said let's wait until there's an actual investigation into me where I might have a conflict of interest but he went ahead and said if there's an investigation into the campaign I'll step aside since I was part of the campaign. It appears he consulted the right people in DOJ (who were all there before Team Trump) and went along with their recommendation. That's encouraging I'd say.

If I recall, no Democrats thought Lynch should recuse herself after meeting with Bill on the tarmac nor did they call for Holder to recuse himself when his DOJ was investigated for targeting the press. While both AGs did recuse themselves; no Dems called for it.

The investigations into this will only come from one of two places. The AGs office or Congress. He wouldn't be in charge of a Congressional investigation. Since ultimately the AG determines what his office investigates he had no choice but to recuse himself.

And yes, I stated on this forum in no uncertain terms that the Clinton, Lynch meeting was a stupid borderline criminal act. At the time I said she must recuse herself, which she did.

I was a fan of his skating as a child. Didn't know he made music now. Cool.

If you're a melodic sort, scratch Metz and check out Brian Jonestown Massacre.

Sessions needs to go. He clearly lied under oath. And he's ass backwards on a few things, so if this gets him out the door I'm all for it. And before the obvious gets asked, I'm a fairly conservative Libertarian.

He lied under oath. So I guess that's about the only reason.

I can't remember is that a crime?

I don't know. Whyncha ask Slick Willie or the Hildabeast. They're both lawyers. But whatever the answer is; is, at this point, not gonna make a difference.

You don't get it.

There is no way that leading GOPers would be getting behind an independent investigation into Trump campaign ties to Russian meddling unless they thought it distinctly possible that this is bad. Really bad.

Not for sure, but distinctly possible.

Or it could we now have a credible administration unlike the last 8 years when corruption ran wild. They were probably just talking about their grandchildren anyway

If the Dems had been this obsessed with the Ruskies in the 70's, Jimmy Carter would have been a two term president. Lol

Lol... Reminds me of the early 90s when Rush Limbaugh was just starting and he had a daily segment called "Gorbasms"where he lampooned Democrats for being in love with anything Gorbachev said.

Typical answer deflector.

Some actual proof of wrong-doing.

For someone who still chants "lock her up" because she used a private email server hoping that some top-secret classified email was sent proving she was to blame for Benghazi and subjected to a rigorous investigations, and you require some sort of proof that Russia tried to influence our elections (other than what is out now) and against investigating the issue calling it a witch hunt.

It is proven Hillary had sent top secret information through her private email, that is without a question a crime. Mishandling classified information has been prosecuted many times so there is precedence.

Not 1 person has ever even been charged with the Logan Act, and there is NO PROOF that anyone in the Trump campaign even violated it. Try again.
