I somehow hurt my neck at crossfit yesterday. It was a steady sharp pain last night but waking up this morning & it's almost unbearable. Can't move it left, right, up, or down.

Any tips at all? Been icing it but not really helping..absolutely miserable. I'm assuming it's just a muscle issue

Your first mistake was doing cross fit.

If you want to workout, just go to a gym and workout. If you want to do something that gets your heart racing; run, swim, bike, or do Tabata.

Cross Fit is built around the idea of doing complex lifts that one should do with as good of form as possible for a couple reps as fast as possible with terrible form. Horrible form + high speed = injuries

Maybe Currie has regrets about how Fulmers firing was handled and he has reached out to Peyton about those and other concerns- and Peyton is choosing to support him because he really has no choice at this point. And it smoothes things over to the public when you have that picture of the two of them. None of us do- he is the AD, hopefully he will do a great job and learn some humbleness to help heal this place. But everyone says what a smart ass he is. That must be a character trait Haslam really likes in recent hires...

Well, I was feeling better about the hire this morning, but after hearing Chris Low on the Jayson Swain show, I am feeling not quite as well.

Low said that the there is still divisiveness on the BOT regarding the Currie hire and that there is even divisiveness on the search committee regarding Currie.

Davenport did not call Fulmer or Blackburn to tell them they were going to hire Currie; the committee had Peyton do it.

Low was pretty surprised that Blackburn did not even get a real interview. He said that Blackburn did not help himself a great deal with his public comments, but still deserved more than having to fly to New York to only get interviewed by the search committee.

He said that while Currie does have a long time at Tennessee, he is not the "Tennessee guy" that Blackburn or Fulmer is.

I am still willing to give him a shot to see how he does. I don't care that he is not a "people person." I am a little concerned about how close he was to Hamilton. But, he has likely matured and has run his own department for 8 years. The national guys do seem to think it is a good hire. I do wish that they had done more than pay a little lip service to Blackburn. OK, I am done.

We got Beard and we have Currie. Let's ride.

Hmmmmmm

Dorian Thompson-Robinson has been offered by Tn. He is the QB I want in this class. Great athlete, powerful arm. Hopefully Canales can reel him in

Why are you even talking about this? We are melting down about the AD hire and farting dogs is next on the agenda, if I am not mistaken.

Probably best to keep in mind that we are reading articles and hearing people talk who may very well just be butthurt over "their guy" not being hired. Doesn't mean there may or may not be some truth to what they say, but take it for what it probably is...someone voicing their displeasure over the guy they wanted (just like a lot of Vol fans) not being hired.

When you read/hear national media, who have no ties to UT politics, you get a completely different story than what you get locally.

At this point people are just bit**ing to be bit**ing. He's hired. Do we really need to see/hear every dirty detail as perceived by someone who may just be pissed off themselves.

If UT is putting emphasis on non-revenue sports, then that means UT is probably killing it in the revenue sports to be able to support the improvements. Who knows, maybe Lady Vols, baseball and softball will begin to generate revenue too...

Orange lining to the LOTM cloud :)

I do miss some of the days when we were killing it in a lot of non-revenue sports. We once had outstanding track teams, swimming teams, tennis teams, and others. I would love to get back to being more competitive in those kind of sports.

Oh boy. And, lo, the next meltdown, shall commence.

Is he a full time coach or like a QC/consultant guy?

They may have backed themselves into a good hire, we'll find out eventually, but this process has been a joke and reeks of a panic hire made without much forethought, after months of playing grab*** round the tree.

If anyone want's to know the reason behind the crouching tiger stance our WR's used under Azzani...your answer comes from the first 20 seconds of this clip.

As a former WR, I always got a lower stance to explode out off the snap. That, and making sure the back leg was ready to engage. Often times you see a WR come off the snap with a false step backwards. As such, I've never criticized CZA's stance, but I'm also not a high level coach. That's just what I was taught, and it makes sense. Power comes from loading the quad and glute, then go

Am I crazy or did I hear a while back that Chris Low and Currie got heated at a basketball game back in the day?

As a sprinter, totally. WR's also need their hands to beat press coverage. Crouching tiger allows the DB's to beat up the WR's a lot easier cause their hands aren't ready to protect their upper body, imo.
