Some think it is. Some think it's not.

Mostly bc he is not named Fulmer or Blackburn

Valid point. I am willing to give him a chance. People are also saying he was Hamilton's "right hand man." I don't know if that is true, but that still does not mean he will be like Hamilton.

Sounding like we let this chancellor woman make the hire. And she hires the chosen candidate of the lone woman on the search committee.

Tennessee is a joke.

So there was zero chance that anybody else on the committee agreed to this hire? You really are quite illogical.

He worked right under him so I suppose he could be considered that.

Hes also a Tennessee guy which people were crying about having.. And now we have him people will cry bc its not Blackburn or Fulmer.

Sigh

I'm memory of Bill Paxton and in light of almost everyone freaking out about the new (unofficial) AD hire:

"WE GOT DEBRIS!!!"

Two things I'm getting from this. The UTAD said Bohn was in the running so they could hire this guy with what they thought would be little to no backlash. This guy is the "Yes Man" that the UT wanted. Now for a serious question. Who has he hired? And I'm not talking about big names I'm talking about in general, in any sport, who did he hire?

Solid hire IMO.

Don't give too much of a flying fu** what the fans of the school he's leaving think. He will be working under a different administration here. We'll see what happens. Could be good, could be bad. We'll have to wait and see.

He however is qualified for the job and whether people want to admit it or not...more qualified than Blackburn. See it through what ever shade of glasses you want, but being the AD at a P5 school (and for longer) does make you more qualified than being the AD at a satellite school. Especially when you improved that P5 school every year that you were there.

I would have liked to have had Blackburn too, but let's be real. Currie is more qualified...he's just not the popular choice.

I have an a**hole....I have an opinion....teake em or leave em, but they are mine. :)

He was involved in hiring Pearl, Kiffin, and Raleigh while at Tennessee

Weak and not a winner.

He might be weak but I don't think the winner comment is fair. Bill Snyder does a fine job at Kstate and there's no way in hell Currie was ever going to interfere with him. He coaches on a field named after him. Currie also hired Bruce Weber which at the time was an incredible hire for the basketball program there. Weber took Illinois to the national championship.
