Nah....as soon as that happens the button gets pushed and the floodgates to the FF are opened. Ain't nobody got no time for cleaning that kind of mess up right now. Best to keep any good feelings/opinions of Butch to oneself. It's just easier that way.

I'm picking C, whether I agree with it or not, just because I already know that's what will happen.

:lol: Not saying you're making anything up. Wish I still had the game recorded. Just saying that it's doubtful that it was Johnson you saw, when 4 days after the game, Jones made the statement that Johnson still wasn't ready. It was quoted on multiple sites. If Jones had said that just after a game that Johnson played in, he would have gotten called out for it by someone.

Ok I just watched the 2nd half of the tech game and I didn't see him so I don't think it was that game. Whatever game it was, it was late in the 2nd half. I just asked my son to make sure I wasn't crazy and he agreed that we saw 98 play in a game late in the year. Watching Kentucky now lol.

I love the resume of Cunningham but would be scared to death that he might want to bring Larry Fadora here.

I think the bigger issue with the AD hire, has to do with the person they are hiring. Not whether or not they are qualified. The fan base feels jaded and wants a Tennessee guy at the helm. Someone that they feel has as much passion about UT as we do. Doesn't matter how qualified. However, with Blackburn on the list, we have a qualified candidate who is a Tennessee guy. IMO if Davenport doesn't hire a Tennessee guy, she will have to hit this hire out of the park or face fracturing an already dysfunctional fan base. It isn't so much that this administration is screwed up, it is that the administration dating back to Hamilton was messed up. The mistakes dating back from then to now have been monumental leaving the fan base thinking that the big wigs at UT don't give two shats what the fan base thinks and don't exactly leave the fan base trusting that they are as vested into athletic excellence at UT. Just my thoughts...

I believe the new Chancellor is trying to make the best hire she can. On paper Cunningham is a much better hire than Fulmer or Blackburn. Just not through the orange colored glasses of most TN fans.

Fedora wouldn't be great but I think he would be a little better than butch

I believe the new Chancellor is trying to make the best hire she can. On paper Cunningham is a much better hire than Fulmer or Blackburn. Just not through the orange colored glasses of most TN fans.

Rightly or wrongly, my feeling is that TN fans would be willing to overlook Blackburn's resume shortcomings just to have a guy whose interests are more closely aligned with the interests of the fanbase.

We want Blackburn and Fulmer because we know that they love Tennessee. I am sure that Cunningham would be a commendable hire, I am just not sure he is better than Blackburn. Is he more experienced? Yes. He inherited Roy Williams and Fadora has been average to pretty good. Blackburn has less experience, but he has a lot of experience working here. He knows how this AD works and he is extremely unlikely to leave on his own. I am not as sure about Cunningham, though he did turn down Florida, which is quite good, in my book. I will not gnash my teeth if Cunningham is the hire. I think he would be a tremendous improvement over Hart.

As a TN fan I prefer Blackburn also. The Chancellor is just trying to hire who she believes is best qualified resume wise. Regardless of past affiliations with UTK.
