I'm 95% certain they won't retain him. Wells was 100% offered the sc OL job. He's not going to turn that down unless he has another job lined up. I think we are going 2LB coach with the extra spot.

HF beating saban multiple times and recruiting that well at a lesser job makes me wonder what he would do here. Violations are the only reason its a hard choice for me.

Pretty significant "only" reason. :ermm:

Interesting stat from Doug Mathews show. Vols allowed 37 drives of 60 or more yards last year for touchdowns (31 were 70 or more yards). 13 of those drives were 6 plays or less. 16 of the 37 occurred in the last 4 games (excluding bowl game) no way to go but up in this area.

Part of getting caught is just bad luck. Every school cheats, we know this. As far as talent evaluator, recruiter, and scheme... HF > BJ, imo.

Or you're just cheating at a level that you can't help but eventually get caught, not to mention being all high and mighty while thumbing your nose at people daring them to prove how such a spotless program could ever be cheating...you'll get nailed every time.

And if he's all 3 of those you listed...what happened this year?

I thought Elliot Berry was a pleasant surprise last year. Especially since that was his first real game time experience

I didn't see anything pleasant out of the linebackers

Hard to give up The number of yards that we gave up in multiple games and see a lot to be excited about on the defense of side of the ball from last year

I do think there is some reason for optimism next year These new assistance seem like serious upgrade from a coaching standpoint

Hopefully that will transition to us being in a better position to stop people

Now if they will only hire a home run WR coach, if no one will hire Azzani, then move him to admin as well. Saves money. Better than firing him with buyout money...

:)

He had more than one class.

His successes were all built on that first class he paid for. He never beats Bama without those guys. And he never gets subsequent good classes without beating Bama. Just watch, ole miss is going backwards.

What exactly is wrong with CZA? Lots of progression by our receivers this year. I've never understood the hate for him.

The number one complaint I've seen about him, has been route running.
That you can name plays where the receiver truly shook someone off, but not that many of them. No distance set between him and the defender.

I admit, Jennings burning Tabor (no pun on Jennings burning) looked a little more like his natural instinct than something he was taught.

But I'm no expert, just passing on the things I've read.

Simple. Who has he recruited in the last couple of years that puts UT in the top ten for recruiting in that position group? JJ doesn't count as his recruit - he came in as a QB first and Azzani was not the reason he came.

If you heard and saw him in practice you would not ask the question. His approach and manner eliminates over half of the potential quality recruits in a given year.

On 104.5 the other day one of the guys that covers UT said CZA actually had multiple offers to join other SEC programs after this season. He turned them down to remain loyal to UT.
