Immigration Ban

Who thinks they can walk down the streets in major cities in any of these countries wearing a "I AM AN AMERICAN" tee shirt and survive? Anyone doing this would be killed even if he looked like an Arab. A percentage of the population will kill you just for that, they will kill anyone who draws a picture of Mohammed or writes anything questioning Islam. If a woman is raped she is killed for the crime of enticement. This is the way they desire to live and I have no problem with that but I can't think of one reason to import this lifestyle into the US. Minimum they need to be heavily vetted.

I agree ..... but that makes us bigots and racists...... I lose a lot of sleep over this label too.

You got anything more concrete than a "may have" article from 4 years ago? I'm surprised if you can't come up with something better than that link

How about first hand knowledge of them in Arkansas?

Will that suffice?

It's cool

Google Fort Chaffee.

It won't give you all the info. But it will give you a idea. Cuba. New Orleans.

It was my backyard. There are things that happened that were not reported due to the Cuban ordeal. If you want to know why, google it.

The Cubans made threats. The locals surrounded the base with rifles. Every thing since then has been kept low key.

Did you mean to quote me? I don't know what you're going on about. I asked for more proof of Al Qaeda and that doesn't seem to be what you're talking about.

Now I have to lol

It's one in the same huff. If they are not vetted, you have no idea what you are letting in.

Just like the border, if it's not secure, you have no idea what you are letting in.

The **** has been in my backyard. I highly doubt it's been in yours.

And a judge who doesn't either.

Not sure how you figure that... I'd say the federal judge is doing his job, perhaps the executive branch should have run this past their lawyers before dropping an eo without the constitutionality of it being vetted.

This "so-called" president is a rank amateur, dissing another branch of government undermines the separation of powers. Completely bush league, though I'm somehow not surprised some of you guys are oblivious to the potential ramifications of Trumps diminishing the role of the other branches. F check and balances, right?

I agree that Trump and his team should have vetted the order prior to issuing it and there are parts of the order that are questionable. However foreign nationals do not enjoy the protection of the constitution and their entry into this country is under the sole purview of the executive and legislative branches.

You certainly seem to have an opinion on this matter. Have you actually read the opinion or are you reaching your conclusions based upon second hand information?

Yes I have read the opinion and believe the judge used faulty reasoning in his order.

At this point we know very little about the Constitutionality of this EO.

Do states have standing?
What are the limits of a POTUS's immigration powers?

All we have is a judge who thinks there is potential it may be problematic so he put it on hold until it can be further vetted.

Also, a POTUS calling out another branch is not the same things as devolving checks and balances. Every single POTUS has called out Congress and most (maybe all) have openly questioned Judicial rulings that go against them.

I do think Trump needs to lay off the titter and quit the calling out. It's childish and if he is right his order will stand up, that is all the calling out he needs.

You had me nodding until you got to the bottom, the executive and legislative branches can't independently decide to unilaterally create dictates. The judge did his job in interpreting the legality of the order and pumping the brakes until it's constitutionality could be determined, period.

Our Republic is grounded in the Constitution, it's the bedrock of everything we hold dear. It's why we're a Republic and not a democracy. The difference is LAW. Undermining the federal judiciary, as Trump has, diminishes our Republic.

Foreign nationals have no protection under the constitution until they are on US soil. So the judicial branch has NO dog in that hunt.
