I agree that the department responsible for our graphics does a phenomenal job, and I the one posted last night (for the 2018 class) is great. Also, I really enjoy Twitter, mostly because I rarely view the comments on tweets...I know that people can get pretty nasty in those.

Well, in spite of myself, I read the comments when CBJ posted the 2018 recruiting graphic. And while I don't agree with the sentiment with which it was posted, you have to admit that this response was pretty damn funny:

Bad news.

Pretty sure Bama just stole the guy in charge of this group.

2014 class -

Von Pearson - 2 year starter (JUCO)
Hurd - almost broke UT rushing record
Barnett - early draft entry
Malone - early draft entry
Weatherd - 2 year contributor (JUCO)
Owen Williams - started all of senior year, played junior year also

Just because these guys aren't here anymore doesn't mean they didn't contribute and weren't part of the class.

Guys that have made and are still making contributions to the team from that class:
Ethan Wolf
Coleman Thomas
Aaron Medley
Emmanuel Mosely
Jashon Robertson
Todd Kelly
Cortez McDowell
Rashaan Gaulden
Evan Berry

Limited contributors still on the roster:
Elliot Berry
Gavin Bryant
Jakob Johnson

Class had a lot of guys that busted out or got processed but it was a massive class. Got a lot of miles out of it.

I haven't seen anyone argue that.

I think what hurt our 17 class was the lack of big fish early on, as in one's that wanted to be here and recruit for us rather than other schools. So looking forward to the 18 class we already have some really good pieces to build around, but I think Butch should focus on some big names first rather than taking a handful of 3*s at a time. I'm thinking of guy like Litaker, Emerson, Harris, Teague, and possibly Franklin

Comparing it to 2007 is basically calling it a bust class cause that's what 2007 was.

Ah, yes, I'm not sure if that's the best comparison.

My point was that most of the elite talent from that class has moved on, so we are now essentially working with 3 depth classes with a few exceptions.

And it looks to me like we are still relying on a lot of guys from that class.

You're right, bad comparison. I almost went back and edited, but oh well.

3 depth classes?

From 2015 and 2016 "depth" classes.....
Shy, Khalil, Guarantano, Byrd, warrior, trey smith, Richmond, Jennings, Kongbo, Osborne, Callaway, ryan johnson, jack jones, Kyle Phillips.

Several other 4* guys and some 3* who will have their number called before long.

I'd say there's many exceptions...anyway you look at it our 2 deep for 17 is composed mostly of 4*s across the board.

Someone refresh my memory on Sam Pittman. Didn't a closer look by this forum determine he was overrated as a coach?

Yes, don't count 15. What's left of 14, 16 and 17. A few exceptions from what you've listed.
