TrumPutinGate

I told you that once an official went on record that I would buy the Russians being behind the DNC hack. They did, so I do. I do not buy into at all your theory of Trump or his team being traitors or under the influence of the Kremlin.

That post wasn't directed at you.

Also worth noting that Trump is reportedly still using an Android phone and the press secretary has something going on with his Twitter.

I'm sure none of our friends in EurAsia noticed.

Beat me to it, Velo.

Speaking of the FSB agent in question, Schindler is hinting (#timing) that there's a possibility that there is no coincidence that this man was arrested and charged now, less than a week into Trump's presidency.

#Hint #Hint

Whatever the case, you have to admit it is quite a coincidence.

We're having quite a bit of overlap between the conversation here and that on Twitter. It would be easier to just do some of the real time sharing there, if anyone cares to.

So, here's where we currently stand regarding the developments in Moscow this week:

Two FSB agents have been arrested and charged with treason, as has a higher-up in the Kaspersky institution. All are allegedly associated with the Kremlin's interference into the 2016 American presidential election.

Three explanations, and these are the only three possible:

1. After a successful Kremlin CI operation, it located moles in its ranks that were providing HUMINT possibly to American intelligence agencies but perhaps through an American ally.

2. Putin conducted this operation as the mafioso he is. He used these men for their services, and then decided to dispatch of them before any had a chance to talk.

3. We just witnessed the first hitjob of the Trump Administration. More specifically, Moscow Mike Flynn getting to work.

Given the timing of the arrests (or more specifically, the public announcements of the arrests) no more than a week into the Trump presidency, I'm leaning towards 3. being just as plausible as the other two explanations.

This, to me, is perhaps the single most interesting development in this whole controversy.

I do. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

One of them was seized in the middle of a meeting!

Simplest explanation is that due to the leaks to the media here Putin found out we're onto what they've been doing.
