I made a funny comment then I notice we are having a two page discussion about what's right or not. I actually complimented cam robinsons mom and have seats close to the other teams parents. Always treat them well and get the same back so far. Going to games should be fun and any trouble I have had has been from other UT fans who were drunk. I just find it comical how we are taking up so much time on something so silly. I actually think being drunk and cursing people is not a good play. But let's try not to be so whimpy about it that we discuss it the next few days.

I'm usually a live and let live person but we're talking about Jalen Tabor and (from the sounds of it) the people who raised him to be 'Teez'... right?

"Every action has an equal and opposite reaction". Sounds like they got exactly what they put in.

There's nothing wrong with talking a little smack to the opposing team, but telling a player's mother "shut his gay F'ing mouth" is not ok. Tabor might run his mouth but he's never said anything that aggressive.

Using "gay" interchangeably with stupid is no longer acceptable like it used to be.

I used to use "retard" in the same way, until my boss who had a child with down syndrome told me how hurtful that was. That's the cool thing about cultural evolution. There's a difference between becoming too PC and eliminating truly hurtful speech.

Hahaha one day... it's all part of the fun. I'm a fan of creative heckling when I go to road games when it's directed toward me. Its a game and it's fun.

The Tabors weren't mad. They've probably heard worse just that day.

Never been threatened. I've had people respond and if it's clever, I laugh. I've also had plenty of these heckling moments turn into sharing some beers and continuing to laugh.

Using gay as part of your heckling wouldn't be creative for a middle schooler.

Also two things, I'm not 40, I'm in my 20s. Going up to someone and angrily cussing at them is not beneficial. But saying it with a smile, no matter what is said is fine by me.

I didn't do a good job describing the Tabors demeanor. They laughed. We all laughed. They were jawing before the game and we again laughed about it. We just had the last one. Some of these folks think we have a family who was treated terribly and will never say positive things about Neyland.
