wow that is absolutely ridiculous. it is killing the economy and there is no way the country can keep moving ahead with the price of everything going up. have u heard of anything that is going to be done to try and releave the price at the pump?

like what, price controls? Not sure we want to go down that road. And your representatives don't care (McCain says he does) since they're still making big money on the taxes per gallon.

It really is not killing the economy. That is what is so amazing about this. Americans are still consuming gasoline without much regard, in terms of consumption not complaints, to the price. If it was killing the economy, you would not have people speculating about $150 and $200 barrels. The demand has yet to decrease in any material way.

No not really..I think it's in OPEC hands right now and untill the US and China slows down, there's nothing really I think can be done..

when i comes down to it the price of gas is what causes everything to go up. example food. have u heard anything else about taking the tax out of the gas for the summer?

I was thinking about this the other day and how it could eventually help to spur the economy. At some point people will make other choices...from personal experience at work we have hired people to improve our packaging. By improve I mean...make it smaller so we can get more on a container...more on a pallet...etc...to help spread our costs out better on a per unit basis. So in essence...the high transport costs made us seek out better alternatives and in turn pay someone to do something for us...that perhaps we would not have done if fuel were at $2 a gallon.

My god allvol only you could justify raging gas prices and how it will help rather than hurt. :eek:lol::eek:lol:You got it bad. Hey how will the nuclear weapons that are not in Iraq help the US?:whistling:

I understand this incredibly basic concept. However, as of yet, there has been no substantial decrease in American consumption...across the board (i.e., not just gasoline)!

Necessity is the mother of invention. Our society has gotten lazy in regards to fuel use because of how cheap it has always been. The more it rises, the more ideas will spawn on how to do things more efficiently.

it jus pisses me off when they say that they cant help the prices. but then the ceo of exxon retires with a 420 million dollar retirement.
