I predict they walk it back and circle back around to Dave Blackburn.

Whether they hire him or not I don't know.

Something tells me Davenport may be wondering what she has stepped into. She may have finished her last trip to Tennessee with a simple "you kids work this out among yourselves" statement.

IMO, CDS came in a lot like Butch, even though he had coached here under Delmonico for a couple years. His way was proven in Cali and even Delmonico was more of a small ball guy as well. There was nobody in the UTAD to guide him any differently even if he would have listened. He underestimated how big baseball had become and grown in the SEC overall. He was also promised a major upgrade in facilities that never really materialized. Now he's used up his goodwill, even more so than Butch.

UT needs to honor the commitment on the facilities and to baseball in general. He is now recruiting and signing some really good future pro ball quality local talent. He has Simcox fixing the run production issue. They have a hot local product in Senzel in the Reds org that should hit the bigs by 2018 at 3B that they can sell to recruits. UT needs to be a go to option for local kids and in-state jucos so they can showcase the deep talent pool we have. If the team makes a good move upward this season they need to extend him a couple of years IMO. If not, with the talent he is working with on that roster, it will be time to change.

There is an insane amount of baseball talent in this state, and I can speak first hand of it in the Tri-cities area. There is no reason baseball shouldn't be great at UT.

On another note, I love your posts. You have much more wisdom & insight than I gave you credit for a few years ago in the Reds thread. :hi:

Regardless, she is still safe. She went to the EE 9 months ago and has the number one class coming in. She's not getting fired this spring.

An ole miss player just had a seizure during a TO.. his name was Rasheed brooks... no update as of yet..my thoughts and prayers are with that kid and his family

Use to be an optimist. Stuck with Dooley until pretty much the end (nerdy as hell). Big Butch supporter, but less so now on this past season. Now, admittedly a complete star gazer 🙄. I am so disappointed in all aspects. I have tried to avoid VN news because of this. I know no one damn cares what I think and nor should they, but I needed to vent. Thanks Freak and your VN Website!

If it's Jimmy I have even less respect for him. I think Big Jim is an overall good man even though I'm getting really tired of the Haslams slapping their name to everything I still have some respect for Big Jim but Jimmy I have a very, very, poor opinion of.
