Man oh man life is way too short.

I know we obviously don't always agree but nobody should hate or have hard feelings for anybody on this board. We're all one big family.

Ugh! Terrible news to get on here and see this morning. Life is too short, gang! Sometimes we get caught up in the rat race of this life and forget it can end in a split second. Prayers for comfort to OH's family and friends. That is 2 frequent posters we have lost from this board way too early in the last few years.

Maybe we should try to have a New Year's resolution amongst us in here that we will keep all discussions on a civil level...no name calling and getting nasty. After all, most of us love the Vols and our football program, minus the few trolls. We sure wouldn't want to get nasty with a poster, and then something happen like it did to OH and never be able to apologize. Have a good day, my Vol friends!

Definitely puts some of our petty squabbles on here in perspective. My thoughts are with his friends and family.

Prayers for OH, his family, and friends. The Lord calls us each home according to His timetable and not ours. It doesn't make it any less difficult for those that we leave but we have no say so in the matter. Hug your wives/husbands, spend time with your children, call your mom's/dad's. Make every moment of every day count and use each moment you have to make the world a better place. It doesn't take much. Just love someone and let them know that they are loved.

Not that it is really relevant, but the following is my facebook post from six years ago today. Can anyone guess what I was talking about?

Congratulations, scumbag. You just became the most reviled figure in the history of University of Tennessee sports. I hope USC gets the death penalty from the NCAA and you and your traitorous staff are looking for jobs again very soon. You, sir, are a jerk and kneebiter and I will now pull for Alabama and Florida and every other team in the world against USC from this day forward.

Preach... this staff is just average, people need to get a grip and face it... look at all this talent that is being marginally developed at best.... And now Butch is going to continue to get mediocre coaches and slowly deflate this program that looked to be on the rise two years ago. Everyone better get ready for recruiting to take a long-term nosedive... we will be cheering for 3*...

Hey, whatever happened to the chatter of Wes Welker? Did I miss something, or did Butch feel like he would be too good and relevant like Wienke, adding some excitement to recruiting and the fanbase and decide to go with some other old, vanilla, mediocre coach?

Salt Lake City (Utah) Cottonwood athlete Tennessee Pututau has eight offers with more close. The four-star has been offered by BYU, Nevada, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA, Utah, Utah State and Vanderbilt and thinks USC and Washington could be offering soon.

Not an either or situation with Canales and Welker. They're being considered for different positions (Welker as a QC coach).


Unless you want Welker to coach QBs lol

thanks, but you missed my point, I know he's not being considered for OC or QBs, I meant Butch moving away from someone that is relevant and could add a spark, and going with someone irrelevant like Canales..... several articles said Wienke and Canales were shooting for the same job...

You must be in denial, sucks for you as well.... so you are good and excited about Canales, where recruiting is headed, and how poorly our players are being developed with the current staff? You are good with the stellar performance of our secondary the past 2-3 years? You must be one of those folks who are good with just going to a bowl....

You get way too spun up when you don't hear anything. Reminds me of Mrs. Lovejoy.

Worrying/going negative over a guy with absolutely zero coaching experience exploring an entry level QC job is laughable. For all we know they told him he could have the job if he wants but take the full time slot at WVU if they're offering.

And that's IF he doesn't end up here.

Not really but I choose to be optimistic and not cry about it at 9 in the morning. It either gets better or it gets blown up. I bet you sat on Santa's lap and complained about all the toys you didn't get the year before.
