I trust he'll speak well and get everyone hyped up.

I trust he'll lose games he shouldn't.

I trust he'll make excuses.

I trust he'll win a mid level bowl game vs. an overmatched big 10 team.

Dooley had a losing record when hired, total BS comparison. Kiffin was a good HC and recruiter until he bailed. Use some common sense here man. Do you not remember what happened to Fulmer when he brought in the next big thing for OC? He lost his job. Why fix something that isn't broken? The playbook is already installed. It's an easy transition to allow the best coach on your offensive staff to call the plays next year. If he hires someone else, Butch will be fired next fall. It's really that simple.

I want the University of Tennessee to have an OC that has been an OC before. I don't think that is too much to ask.

Best coach is a stretch.
The writing was on the wall with Fulmer someone had to draw the short straw and it wasn't Fulmer.
It will be broken because it's not Debord. It's already installed that's true but if CZA has been working with Debord wouldn't that make more sense seeing as how neither have been OC?

For the record I think neither will work and Butch is in trouble regardless.

Didn't say it was I simply don't understand giving him more time to produce the same results. Hes a middle of the road guy and some fans are comfortable with it and anyone that disagrees is a negga or not a fan..

but that's exactly it... you don't understand because you've already made your mind up. rational action would be he needs more time because 4 years removed from the dumpster fire that this program was is not a distant memory. don't pull that sh!t about not being a fan just because i don't want to pull the plug on life support before the operation is even finished.

We are all pretty pissed off about this year. The difference is, you are allowing your anger to interfere with rational thought. At this point, you are done with Butch. That's fine, and I understand why. However, we are stuck with him for another year at minimum. Bringing in a new OC and installing a new system at this juncture is career suicide.

Rational actions are dumping coaches that don't perform and get guys that do. He did that with Shoop and he gets a pass because he beat Florida. Others have failed for years and are still here. The good ole boy system gets you fired just ask Miles. More time for what? B10 teams? He had the East gift wrapped and blew it coming off a bye. I didn't pull that but a lot of posters have simply because a few don't give butch forever.

that's the opposite of rational. rational thought, like i said before, would look at the true state of the program and know that 4 years isn't enough to tell and more harm would be done than good if butch was fired. i'm willing to give at least 1 if not 2 more years, then i don't have any qualm about moving on.

So putting all your chips on a guy who has never called a play isn't? If it were going to go this direction it would have made sense to bump CZA. To me it feels like an attempt to keep Scott since he drew interest this past season. Remember he did the same with CZA last off season.
