It's the age of media empowerment don't-cha-know. If UGA fans can run of Coach Richt with media outcry and LSU fans can run off Coach Miles the same way, by golly the Nega-Vols will not be denied!

Established OC's are always going to be reluctant to go somewhere they can't bring their own playbook/system. The lame duck talk my be correct, but keeping the existing offensive system in tact somewhat limits the choices as was the case when Debord was hired and Butch Jones seat wasn't even warm.

I know a lot of folks may dislike Sports Source, but they just put up an interesting comparison of Swinney's first 4 years at Clemson vs. Jones's first 4 years at UT.

Random thought of the day. The "vol for life" Facebook page is full of a bunch of clueless clowns that have to no idea what they're talking about. I just spent like 30 minutes of my day owning them. That's 30 minutes I'll never get back 😑

Who has bad mouthed or disparaged him? I think we are holding our collective breath hoping that this year was just a bump in the road.


Well there are some that are hoping we tank next year because they hate Butch. However, most of us are hoping for a smooth road and renewed success next year.

Pretty sure the LSU AD had his sights set on Les well before any fan outcry set in. Don't let that ruin your narrative though.

He makes wild predictions that couldn't come to fruition for several years. When he occasionally makes flubs (like Micah Abernathy,Dan O'Brien Justin Martin), he takes the tact that "there is new information" he wasn't aware of. Like game performance in something other than HUDL film or AA games? :w00t: Which is a conflict with a previous blowhard boast that he is "gifted" and "only needs one look to determine an athlete's talent level". :lol: We keep him going, he knows what he's doing.

Scar just hired someone else for ol coach. Seems like Wells might get the oline coach. Lws posted this on Vq.

Y'all thinking Butch is here just one more year is wrong IMO. Barring a total collapse next year where we miss a bowl, he gets at least one more year. Remember this is about money and the university will not pay a buyout until it is blatantly obvious that they'll lose more money in revenue than the buyout. 6-6 he's here in 2018.

Actually agree with you. Pretty sure the NegaTigers had been DEMANDING Miles head for a few years. Some since the NC title game massacre by Bama. Empty noise by both sides until the powers that be make the call.

While hiring Scott as OC does not give me a warm fuzzy feeling, I am sure Jones will not allow anyone to make very many tweaks to his offensive system. If Scott did have a bit of input this year he may be as good as it is going to get.

Canales scares me. He has coached QBs a lot, and at several different locations. This lends the experience that Jones will be looking for. I feel like he very well may be the hire for QB coach. When you see though that the North Texas AD told him he could not come back there in any capacity it raises a red flag for me. At one point the players there loved him and lobbied on his behalf for North Texas to keep him earlier in his tenure there. Why has his career seemed to spiral downward? Why is he now at the school he played for? Are they one of the few that want him now? If North Texas told him he could not come back does Tennessee want to be the path back to a better job? This is so Tennessee.

6-6 he can't find a job to buy him out. Just like this year at 8-4. Couldn't find a suitor. He's gonna get fired or he's gonna win enough to get an extension.

Ive been around just as long as you and matt have and we all know about the same...nothing until next year plays out but yes lets talk about lame duck hires and firing our coach its so enriching.
