Which is why CBJ will most likely choose Canales. CBJ has some sort of connection with Canales but I'm not sure what it is.

I get the feeling the whole process after Debord leaving has pretty much been a charade with a pre-determined outcome for some time as to who would be the OC and QB coach.

Matt it's starting to look like the beginning of the end. When guys like you and some of the other respected posters start saying Butch is finished looks like the writing is on the wall.

I like Butch but it's not looking good. Only thing that I'm different on is that I don't necessarily won't him fired. Nick Saban has set the standard that all coaches have to live by. Coaches or getting canned left and right bc that standard is too high. It's only 5/6 coaches in college with national championship.

I wanna win as bad as the next man. The thing that Butch has brought back is that we have a chance to win every game we play something we used to not be able to say

Don't be bummed if Weinke doesn't get the gig.

Receiving accolades as a 30 year old college football player doesn't mean he's a great coach.

Yall are giving up on Uncle Rico too soon. He's a dark horse I know, but he used to be able to throw a football a quarter mile!

I've been on this board 9+ years and I think Matts42012 usually brings pretty solid info.

I don't know if that means his lame duck statement will turn out to be true or not, but that does give me more pause to think about it than most of the other spitballin'-level speculation around here.

Was always going to be tough to hire quality staff when it's VERY likely a one year gig. Butch will NOT be our coach next year IMO. It's just waiting till this next season is mediocre as well at this point. Just treading water while the recruiting and roster suffers.

And you base that assertion on what, besides your own opinion? I'd bet that Jones will be the coach after next year....and should be.
