Lets be honest with ourselves here. Those players you mentioned are good players but they didn't have a whole lot of production...heck 3 of the ones you mentioned missed half of the season. Lets be honest, Dobb, AK, Sutton, Barnett, Malone those guys are going pro for a reason, yes they weren't 100% or the production, but ill say 90%.

Fair, but DK and TK are starters and dang good players. JK is the real deal also

I'm trying to remain my usual optimistic self, but it's hard watching the UA game and now the Army game. If Butch doesn't kill it in recruiting for 2018 he's done here I believe. The only way to keep up in the SEC is to recruit at a high level. Have to lock down the state next year for starters. Hate to say it but I'm worried

The state is pretty loaded next year. Will he shut it down? Who knows.

Cade Mays and Alontae Taylor is a good start.

I agree.

Fulmer, Cutcliffe, and Manning lost to Memphis in the middle of going 45-5 in Manning's career.....

CBJ hasn't beaten ANY TEAM from the SEC West--and I've got idiots on here telling me how the superiority of the West is just a myth this year.....

Is it too much to expect the Head Coach at the Univ. of Tenn. to WIN just ONE GAME against an opponent from the SEC West in 4 YEARS???????

Until Jones does that and wins the East he's just another Jim Donnan here at UT as a place-holder until we get someone who can actually compete on the field in the SEC for championships.....

There's enough work now to give a decent evaluation of CBJ.....IMO he must go undefeated in the East to get to Atlanta next year or he needs to go......

You guys can disagree all you want.....but the evidence is on my side.....and before you open your traps to spew another bunch of crap.....Just beat ONE SEC WEST TEAM JONES.....JUST ONE PLEASE!!!!!
I'm a fan of CBJ, but also agree that he needs to beat SEC West opponents and win the East to convince me that he can have long term success.

And will still blow it somehow 9 times out of 10.
Their 2016 draft class is the second best in NFL history in terms of rookie production. It is just behind that 2002 Miami draft class. Kids want to get to the NFL and Ohio state is doing it better than anyone else right now. Bama is up there too but OSU players are producing

Making the playoff 2 of 3 years with one title and 2 losses a season a high isn't exactly "blowing it"

Losing with that much talent is in my opinion. At OSU you can bet your Ascot that anything less than a national championship is blowing it. But,yes, they have a very successful program in comparison to most everyone else.

Hey, I'm not questioning why good players go there. It makes perfect sense. I'm just taking what little dig I can possibly take and rub it in that they seem to choke away some golden opportunities sometimes.

Lol its been SEVEN YEARS since we beat a team out of the SEC West

Above all others - this is the most telling stat of all those discussed on here lately. Put lipstick on the pig and it is still an ugly pig. That is an ugly, inexcusable stat IMO.

One asterisk on that ugly porker is that we seem catch every west team on their "peak" year.

Surely we could luck up and win at least one. Good grief that's bad. I was feeling a bit better until that.

Nothing new on the OC front. Scott continues to trend there. Scott and the offensive staff was in interview with Weinke yesterday and I think Jones and Scott spent some separate time with Weinke as well.

-Hubbs

Well, guess Scott is definitely the new OC.

Take away the 7 Bama games, and that means we have lost one a year to every single program. One a year is not bad, but every single program sounds bad.

Would have been nice to play MSU under Butch. Last year's Arkansas game was probably the likeliest win but it came after UF. If it was in late October or November, we probably win. Not making excuses, but some of the streak is circumstantial.
