Prepare to be underwhelmed again on OC Hire

Back to back 9 win seasons and barely missed out on both an SECCG and a Sugar Bowl? What a terrible year!

Your 3 wins on the field statement is laughable too. You're essentially claiming you're upset because he hasn't had back to back 12 win seasons

That's the point, we MISSED out on both the SECCG and a Sugar Bowl bid because we LOST to two bottom feeder East teams that we should've beaten by at least 3 scores. 9 wins was fine last year, this year was supposed to be no less than 10. Not to mention, we were the large favorite to win the East by a mile

Even with injuries, we proved we were the better team than A&M and there's no comparison needed for South Carolina and Vandy. We had no business losing those games, but if you want to think like Butch Jones and pretend that 8 wins and a mediocre bowl win is a successful season for Tennessee then go right ahead.

And lost to Vandy and South Carolina to miss Atlanta yet again. Fact.

True. I hate that we lost but I understand why. Nobody from the media had to tell me why. I watched every game. I kept up with the players. Comon sense told me why.

But anyways he was specifically talking about App State. But since you bring up those two games I will bring up two games as well. UGA two games in a row (winning streak against them)and Florida for the first time in over a decade. They mean a lot to me and others as well. I think looking backwards and redefining the year the way you are isn't right imo. A bad coach wouldn't ever coach good against one of the best teams in the SEC (Florida).

98, just having fun. That 99 game in Fayetteville was a hard one to swallow.

Lol I thought you knew. You get the gist of what I'm saying. Do you not count the championship because Arkansas made one of the worst plays in history that day? I'm sure you don't. You get what I mean. A win is a win.

Considering the pile of **** Vols football was when Butch came here he sure catches a lot of grief.

He's a victim of his own success. People are upset because he beat Florida and Georgia and had great recruiting classes. I'm not ready to part with a man who just had back to back 9 win seasons.

Hes done a good job of making us respectable again. I hope he can go further but he has a lot left to prove and several coaching blunders he needs to recover from. Im hoping for the best. Tired of coaching searches but i also wont settle for just being respectable again.

Hopefully, the Vols will hire another OC who will set a new record for TDs and total offense. The last one sure worked out well. Too bad the defense didn't perform up to the offense's standards.

The offense put the d in horrible position early in the year, which led to fatigue, which contributed to injury. Points and yards mean very little with the high scoring offenses today. Compare total offensive plays to when Peyton played. The real stat in the SEC is TOP and scoring efficiency. Sustained drives matter.

I'm not even talking up Cowherd. I'm simply stating that he's in no way the only one observing our situation and coming to a similar conclusion.

And since you said only delusional fans or people looking for clicks think Butch's seat is hot, which category does LWS fall into?

LWS is in his own category. He's a guy pissed off because he lost his "insider" info contact after Jones took over. It pisses him off to hear it but it's true.

I bet money that if BELICHECK quit the Patriots and came to be the OC, the next post from VOLNATION would be. "Too old, can only coach veteran players, 1* DO NOT WANT"

I believe we where all underwhelmed when we got Debord, seems to have turned out pretty good though. I said in another post, It's going to clear itself up one way or the other. CBJ will fix it and all is well, or he will screw it up and get fired and we will start over but be in better shape this time.

I am not going to be underwhelmed because I never expected those being mentioned to be real candidates.

I think it will be a young gun from out west. Someone, we don't "know". Perhaps an existing OC at a smaller school. They will run Butch's offense with a couple of new wrinkles.

In the big picture, got to dance with the girl you brought.

I listened to his show for about 2 weeks several years ago on espn and quickly realized that he has some weird takes on sports and life. Only Jim Rome is worse

Cowherd was a local network guy here in Portland years ago, many Portlanders learned to ignore him. I still do. How he got a national job is beyond me.

The last time we made an underwhelming hire we wound up with the 2nd best rushing offense the next year and near record setting point season the next year with more to spare.

The last time we where overwhelmed with a splash hire we wound up with a near record setting defense in most yards given up and made Vandy's QB look like Tom freaking Brady.

I may just like being underwhelmed.

Yes sir! Agree 110%:clapping::clapping::yes:
