Prepare to be underwhelmed again on OC Hire

Back to back 9 win seasons and barely missed out on both an SECCG and a Sugar Bowl? What a terrible year!

Your 3 wins on the field statement is laughable too. You're essentially claiming you're upset because he hasn't had back to back 12 win seasons

Losing to SC and Vandy is inexcusable. He had the East and the Sugar Bowl in hand. All he had to do was beat the also rans of the SEC lEast (you know, the games he supposed to).

I think you forgot about the first half of the season. We stopped absolutely noone, even before injuries. As the defensive coordinator, Shoop should have been able to get his assistants to do what he wanted done; he's in charge. Coordinators go to teams all of the time and make an impact immediately, but when that doesn't happen at UT everyone digs into random bleacher report articles for a good reason. " His assistants" work for him right now, as they did all season and he should have been able to make them do what was needed. That didn't happen except for in one half of the Florida game and in the bowl game. Pituful beginning, mid, and end of season. Adjustments to the run were non-existant, and pass defense was really no better. If shoop was a good manager he should have been able to stop vandy and SCar with the backups, period. Byweeks didn't even help and the defense never ever looked prepared except for in that forementioned second half vs Florida. Just admit to the fact that Shoop had a bad year, period. Anything else IS AN EXCUSE. I honestly think that he will do much better next year because he really is a good coach. Just didn't work out this year regardless of the situation handed to him.

Before injuries? When was that?

If you believe losing to those teams was inexusable, you probably didn't watch either of them play this year

Dont care if your into them or not, fact is, there is no excuse for the crap we saw on defense.

Not having lbs and dts, playing most of the year without your star corner, playing all year without your star lb, yeah, you're right. No excuses!

It took a couple of miracles to win a couple of the ones we did win. Lol.

Yep. UF did their part by getting smoked at Arkansas. We doubled down with the Cocks and the Anchors.

So, our whole defense is garbage except for the "star" players? Shoop was also outcoached.

No, hurd fell on a fumble to win that game, what We are all currently talking about is the defense not being able to stop them. Hurd played on offense, sorry that I actually had to break that down for you. And yes 13 points, to app state with a "star" defensive coordinator in a power 5 school.

I thought the offense started coming together once the OL was fixed.

I was just trying to be funny, but these post support Hooker! really! another media guy who never played sports.......it looks to me that anything regardless of source is believed by any Vol Fan that does not like Butch. They still have this fantasy that CPF is coming back and he has been out of coaching for too long to be a serious consideration.......unless its ETSU ;)

Your on a very short list of people who believe that Shoop was out coached. We were out manned. Fact not opinion. Paul Bain on the d line? C'mon guy if you have kept up with things you know that's the truth and not an silly excuse. But I digress to you guys that know more about it than people who coach professionally.

Only in the tiny minds of some delusional fans and media click hunters
is Jones job on the line this year.

I would be willing to bet you're going to look pretty delusional when Jones is not UT's head coach after the 2017 season. You're preaching the same message the Dooley sheep were saying going into year 3.

Jones has done a nice job of making our football program stable and somewhat relevant, but he will never take the next step in this league. Writing is on the wall whether you want to believe it or not.

And maybe Chip Kelly and Mark Helfrich coming here replacing Butch Stones. Any coach that comes here with all the expectations we have has to have huge ones.

We won the game. Fact. Do you think like that about the 1999 Arkansas game?
