Debord to Indiana as OC

You're saying all this under the impression that Butch only wants to hire friends. You don't know that, yet you pretend you do.

Who cares if Shoop isn't what "he said he is?" Whatever that means...it was mostly Vol fans saying Shoop was God when we hired him. Also doesn't change the fact he and Butch weren't "friends."

And it makes sense to keep Scott because of HC offers? Then why not boot Debord last year and keep Elder as OC since Butch is all about friends?

This is an example in logical thinking for those that apparently doesn't know what the term logic means.

Boggles the mind that UT would allow Butch to revamp the staff before hiring the AD.

The consumers demand a quality product. If that takes employee changes you can't wait on a general manager. Got to let the manager get his employees that he will sink or swim with.

Will miss those 3 second half points from the Vandy game. See ya.

But we also had our most productive offense in many years--a record-setting offense--and of course the defense was a much bigger problem than the offense down the stretch. That said, without Dobbs and Kamara UT will have to be more polished on offense, and that might be why this change occurred.

no matter who is hired, unless CBJ lets them do the job they are hired for nothing will Change. He has to let his ego go and let the Coaches Coach...

What would be funny to me is if Helfrich was brought aboard and the condescending know it alls has to regroup and come up with the next reason to be miserable. The fanbase didn't create this scenario out of thin air. Hubbs and Callahan both said there's smoke. I remember during the Gruden stuff, no legit analyst gave it much legs.

First, I'm not miserable. You can be realistic without being miserable.

Second, which do you think is more likely:

1. Helfrich coaches at UT
2. Helfrich doesn't coach at UT

This smoke you speak of is because Helfrich was in Nashville to see Mariota and stopped by a UT practice. :loco:

What did you think the odds of Shoop coming last year were? Not saying Helfrich is possible but I would say most thought Shoop was a pipedream too.

Biggest question no one can answer. Will Butch let the new OC run his offense or force him to run the Butch offense. If the latter, why not hire a QB coach and let Butch call plays?

Oregon has done nothing but go down the toilet bowl since Helfrich took over so I'm still trying to figure out where this Helfrich love comes from .... unless it's it's bamisalami fans posting as vols fans.

Do we know this to be an issue??? I think it is assumed, I mean how do you explain second half adjustments by Shoop...shoop calls or butch?

He was a good OC under Kelly and did a good job as HC until hoke came and made them the worst defense in the pac 12. Bamisalami fans want Hoke coaching our Dline.

So you think Helfrich was here solely on the idea of seeing Mariota recovering from surgery and all of a sudden thought it would be a good idea to stop by a UT practice? He just wanted to see the practice. No reason. Back to the west coast he goes.

Yes. That's exactly what I think. Coaches know each other. A coach stopping by a practice isn't a new thing. Hasn't Gruden been to a few of UT practices?

Going to have to give the new OC time tho just like people are giving Shoop. Shoop gave up 450 ypg and 30 ppg this year. Most look at personnel and give a pass. The new OC (if it is Helfrich) won't have the personnel to run his system.

I have no idea. I don't know what Shoop was making at PSU. And he wasn't the HC. It was a lateral position move but I'd wager it was for significantly more money.

I thought it was widely known Gruden was comfortable in the booth. Plus, he's been to our practices while Butch has been HC. Helfrich is looking, and it's been said we've had a shot at him for a while now.

No. There is a difference between poor play execution (which is what you are describing) and poor play calls.

DeBord was quite bad at the latter.

Poor execution is why most plays fail. If everyone did their job on every play we would never punt:dunno:.

If that is so,then kudos to Tee. I would make that choice without hesitation for my wife. Wives of coaches sacrifice a lot for their husbands' careers.

She also didn't want him close to his baby's momma. There was not a good history there from what I was told.
