Debord to Indiana as OC

Not really. He's still the odds on favorite according to those in the know. They are just placating Davenport take over the role as chancellor. Of course there is one idiot booster that has some sort of issue with Blackburn. Hopefully the other power players can keep him at bay.

I meant my hopes that he'll be AD at UT.

This is just dumb. Dobbs had a great year throwing the ball.

So my post was dumb and your only response was 'Dobbs threw the ball'. No sh1t genius. But he also ran the ball effectively when our sieve of an O-line allowed the opposing teams D-linemen to run free in the backfield. Personally, I think anytime you actually discuss football it's generally dumb. But that's neither here nor there. Carry on being an energy vampire on the boards.

DeBord was not the issue, and those who think Helfrich is the answer to all of UT's problems are delusional.

Helfrich might be the answer to a lot of them.

Rightly or wrongly, I am willing to give Shoop a pass for the bad defense in the second half of the year because of 1) his historical track record and 2) injuries.

No way Butch brings in someone he can't have offensive control over. Helfrich is a smarter offensive mind than Butch and Butch's ego can't handle that. I bet Larry Scott gets the nod. Alabama has a former HC as its OC and we're gonna end up with a guy who's never called plays. That's the difference between us and Bama right now

Those stats are padded against inferior opponents

That's pretty much how stats in regards to football always work. Can't understand feeling compelled to point out something so obvious. It's like saying, "would've had more losses if not for all the wins."

Wanted to thank Debord for the solid job he did here, but I assume Butch encouraged him to take the job so we could hire Helfrich, someone who has experience coaching QB's. I guess this means Mahoney is safe.

It’s clear that Helfrich knows how to develop quarterbacks: He did it with Bart Hendricks at Boise State, and he did it with Andrew Walter and Carpenter at Arizona State, and he did it with Darron Thomas at Oregon; he has done it with Mariota, but is he a good fit for UT? He's a west coast guy. The last west coast guys we had went back west. We don't need a one and done, we need someone who's committed for the long haul.

Despite offense not really being the problem this season, it is encouraging to see Jones attempting to upgrade.
Relentless pursuit of improvement.
+1 to Butch Jones.

Helfrich has to see a lot of Mariota in JG, this could and should happen.

either of them lol

It also doesent mean he gets the highest praise.
He did good things but he fails to show up against good teams

Best news all day. Debord issue was his playcalling was very predictable and easy to figure out.

why would Scott get it? He has already said that if a HC position comes open he's gone, so why would we promote someone to OC that will most likely be gone in a year?

and if ya'll cant put the pieces together with Helfrich at bowl practice and this news coming out today, you need help. This Debord moving thing has been in the making for sometime.

Now we need to get rid of Mahoney and Martinez and we are set. If stripling wants to take a more administrative job then that's fine. Bring in Hoke and let Shoop hire his DL and DB coach
