I don't dislike Apple. I know they are well made. They are just not for me. I like a more open architecture.

For a smartphone, I love the simple, easy to use interface of the iPhone. But Apple products really limit their users' capabilities in taking advantage of the their hardware. And they come with the added disadvantage of locking their users into a number of other products (cords, dongles, etc) that are useless for anything but other allle products.

In general, you can't go wrong with Samsung when it comes to smart phones and tablets. They're neck and neck with Apple on those two fronts.

Disagree on smart phones. My wife has had two different Samsung smart phones and had issues with both, moreso with the OS than the phones themselves. IMO Android has some issues due to every manufacturer using their own Android implementation and by opening up more of the OS to app developers. Things just get buggy. I much prefer Apple for phones even though they're more locked down and usually behind the curve on hardware.

I've had the Samsung S5, S6, Motorola Droids, and now I have a Google Pixle. I have never had one glitch with any of them, not one.

The last straw with my wife's Note 4 was when it factory reset itself completely unprompted two different times. Deleted every app, song, picture, text, etc. There were multiple other problems before that.

You must have the worst luck ever then.

None of the friends and family I have with Samsung phones and tablets have had any of those issues.

I wish the whiners would go back to sleep, whenever they think of logging on to VN. But no, that is not going to happen. So maybe the powers that be will allow them to have their own thread, a sort of home away from home. They can open this thread to find like minded so-called fans and complain all day long. Then they can complain all night long. That should make them happy. The rest of us will be happy also, if they are here where we are not. This thread will probably be deleted before it gets started, but I hope Freak will give it a shot.

In this day and age, no one is above criticism. Nick Saban had to get upset at people when Alabama didn't beat Arkansas big enough a couple of years ago. Seriously, with these platforms, people these days will literally ***** about anything.
