How would it be different?

(I'm not making a smarta$$ remark. I haven't followed this cycle as closely since the summer, and I genuinely don't know what would have changed)

10-2 SEC East Champs VS 8-4 losses to two 6-6 teams and Butch hot seat talk.

You already know there is negative recruiting going on.

I agree with this. If Volnation is a microcosm of the fanbase there were on here that were 100% confident in Butch heading into the season that have list some level of confidence now. Some are completely off the train while some are still in Butch's corner but a few doubts have crept in. This is completely understandable after the way the season played out.

I said a couple of years ago that from an experience standpoint, Butch is a realative youngster in terms.s if coaching. Would the fanbase be patient enough for him to grow up?

I don't think it has changed all that much. I don't know how many members VN has but there are only about 10 or so that continually harp on the same subject. The biggest majority are either hoping for staff changes or realize how much better off we are now than 4 yrs ago.

You have guys like Darth today that won't move on and completely monopolize the conversation that it seems as if everyone thinks like he does. There are 8 or 9 more on here that do the same..

Sam Darnold is probably the best pros style QB in the league and he's a freshman 😮

USC is top 3 in the program currently...Penn State isn't giving it up.

After the last few bowl seasons they need to rename the conference the Big Tin. Like the foil. Cause the teams all fold quickly.

I don't think it's as black and white. I think what some people post isn't an actual representation of how they truly feel. I think some people truly hate Butch and hope TN loses to quicken his demise. On the other extreme, some think Butch can do no wrong and and when anything bad happens it's always something out of Butch's control. The truth is, I think most are somewhere in between. While there have been legitimate reasons for some of the missteps this season, I think it's fair for some to doubt whether Butch will ultimately succeed here given the way the season turned out.

I admit, my confidence has been shaken. Am I ready to give up on him? Absolutely not! He deserves and has earned the right to try and correct things. I think sometimes he's his own worst enemy. If he truly thinks his system is infallible, he will fail. Even the great Pat Summit was always trying to improve, looking for others to learn from.

Hopefully, Butch will take a bite of humble pie. Listen to others that know more than he does, not the yes men that he may have around him. I think a strong AD hire will help with this, (cough, cough, Blackburn). He can hire all the high quality assistants in the world if he's not planning on letting them do their jobs.

Put me in the same camp as you. Based on all current factors, I believe it's the most logical approach.
