Josh Malone Exploring Entering Draft

barnett, kamara, malone, hurd will be the underclassmen vols to get drafted. jrm, sutton, and maybe dobbs will also be taken im guessing.

If he's only 5 to 7, stay.

I think he'll be higher than that and he should go.

Especially in today's NFL. The way the league is officiated he doesn't have to be the physical specimen of Anquan Boldin or Terrell Owens. It's kind of a blessing to be fast and agile while being flexible. He has the home run threat frame and ability every team could use. A.J. Green or Victor Cruze type.

Yeah, Malone will test super well at the combine. With his productive season and measureables, he will move up draft boards.

I think there's more to malone than film can show. He'll fit nicely into a lot of NFL schemes, just may not be immediate. He seems to be healthy now but i think he went thru a period of nagging injuries early in his sophmore season. It's a gamble and a toss-up at that. He will be UT's best reciever and stock could climb but he'll lose a year that he could be in the NFL learning. Don't know much about talking to potential agents and certain penalties involved but i'm sure he's in good hands at UT and he's a home boy. He'll be fine either way and it was/is great watching him wear and represent the big orange. Pretty close call IMO.

late round at best. he should stay. that way he could actually catch a ball that doesn't look like a kick off

Malone needs to stay as much as Justin Hunter needed to stay. Refine your skills, be the premier wide out on the team, and arguably the conference, and get a 1st to 2nd round grade next year for real money.

But I won't blame him if he goes...

He's projected to go in the 5-7 range this year & we have a more accurate QB taking the helm next year. I think he will stay, JMO.

Saw on TOS where someone said he's projected as 3rd round pick. A rookie QB in the SEC is normally not a good thing. Look at Eason this year. I think he'd be crazy to stay if he's projected as a 3rd rounder.

Life is short. Go get paid.

The days of moving way up in the draft by staying for your senior year are mostly over. They draft more for potential now than production anyway. Cf. Myles Garrett.
