'17 MS RB Cam Akers (FSU commit 12/27)

I'm trying to figure out what's happened in the past few days to produce so much pessimism for the Vols signing Akers. I know 247 guys aren't feeling too good, but the VQ guys haven't had anything to say, right? And other with supposed sources are saying things look positive. Seems like the pendulum has swung the other way over the past two days. If the kid and his family aren't saying anything, then there's not much basis for the pessimism or the optimism....

Apparently JAV posted this on 247, sounds like he might be hearing differently now...

"I had another someone tell me today that he believes that we are very much in it. This is a non UT source. That's 2. There might be a small tendril of smoke. I'm still saying FSU but hoping for more smoke."

Its not BVS it's pattern recognition.

The paid media either didn't know or thought we were no better than second on all of those, except until the very end on Phillips and Richmond.

People would come on the message boards and contradict the media guys and say "we've got this one locked up" or "Vol." All of a sudden those people were credible, well-respected posters. Which is, of course, what they wanted.

Do you think LSU offers Etiene? Chad Simmons feels if you offer, it's over.

Nothing on Cam other than he some speculate he did the announcement pick after he made the last video, people can't even agree on that. Sheesh lol.

Dec. 22 update: It looks like Akers is headed out of state, and the school trending very late in the process is Florida State. The Seminoles are trying to hold off Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss and Tennessee for this five-star early enrollee. He is announcing Dec. 27.-Scout

Just heard Volatil called for Cam to the good guys, the Higgins Christmas day flip and that Ray will make BR video burning an Alabama flag while rocking the orange pants because he wants to quote "remove the Dooley". It's a good time to be a Vol.:rock:

Cam Akers is set to decide on Dec. 27. The recruitment of Cam Akers has been played well by Akers and his family with very little quality information to be had. We do feel that the family has had steady dialogue with the Tennessee staff and Akers has stayed in touch with Vol commitments and current players.
